My Biggest Inspiration

It's not easy to explain a dad's responsibilities. Anyone can be a father, but it takes something special to be a dad. A dad is not only your flesh and blood, and a provider of basic necessities, but also someone who interacts with his children, taking the time to understand them and impart his experience, and where needed guidance. My father has been the epicenter of my universe long before I first opened my eyes. He was there to carry me in his arms and introduce me to my elder sister while being there for my jubilant and exhausted mom. He has held us all together through good times and bad, somehow making us feel that despite going to office everyday in the morning, his main occupation is with us at home being a dad. He is the kind of dad who stays awake all night on a weekday, helping me with my homework, tests and projects. He shepherds me dutifully everywhere, helping me appreciate life by pointing out the little things I often miss. He is a constant guide through my life, by example and his teachings stemming from years of experience. My dad expects nothing back in return, and yet he showers my mother, sister and I with limitless love, and I couldn't begin to imagine the sacrifices he has made for us. I only hope that some day I can make him proud and always be the daughter he deserves.   "A father is neither an anchor to hold us back, nor a sail to take us there, but a guiding light whose love shows us the way"
