How about headcanons to change the atmosphere for once?

Max teaching his dad Hindi and giving him some obscure phrases to say but being proud at how fast he's learning

Max is secretly a die hard Disney kid and is prepared for David to freak out. So he's surprised when David just gives him his entire Disney collection.

David has a cat named Tubbs.

Tubbs is very spoiled. V e r y spoiled.

Max and Tubbs get along.

If Max can't sleep at night, he'll go and talk to David since David has insomnia anyway.

Tubbs takes this as an opportunity to get extra treats.

Oh, my Teenage Dadvid AU? I feel like the same thing would apply there, haha! David wants his son to be able to express himself without feeling like he has to censor himself (again, with certain exception, because some words are just...NOT okay).

You know I COULD be participating in this event, but I'm busy with school, so I'll have to settle for sharing a headcanon. So, Max gets REALLY annoyed with David the first few days, because he thinks David is going to abandon him, but once he sees the papers, he breaks down because this is the first time someone has actually tried caring for him, and David just wraps him in a hug and doesn't let go until Max stops crying.

Head-cannons in regards to how David handles his son’s colorful language or swears?

In what AU? Or do you mean in canon?

I think that while David doesn’t necessarily approve of the language, he doesn’t try and restrict Max’s ability to use whatever words he’d like (unless they’re SUPER offensive slurs, but even Max avoids using those). He doesn’t want to be the one to tell his son that he can’t express himself in a certain way, even if it’s not something he necessarily approves of himself.
