He was standing in front of you, his hands behind his back. Daehyun was kicking the floor with one leg while supporting his weight with the other leg. You were worried and anxious. He called you out of the practice room in the middle of giving you a cold shoulder. Being friend with him for years made you wonder if you really knew him.
“I want to talk to you.” He had said, but since you got here he didn’t say a word. He wouldn’t even meet your eyes.
“So?” You sighed, tilted your head to the side. “What did you want to talk about?”
“I’m sorry.” He said. A pout shaped his perfect lips. “I was kind of a jerk to you.”
You glared at him, wrapping your arms around your chest. An eyebrow raised as you remembered the moment right after Daehyun kissed you. He froze as if he was stroked by an electric shock. He apologized, saying many times that it was a mistake before running off. It happened a week ago, since then he didn’t talk to you. Until he called you out this morning.
“Okay, fine. I was a huge jerk to you. I’m sorry.” He apologized. His hand reached the back of his head. He was avoiding your eyes at all costs.
“Daehyun, if you don’t like me, just say it. I will understand. But you are my best friend.” You sighed, shaking your head. “Don’t ignore me just because of a stupid kiss.”
“It wasn’t stupid to me.” He said, almost immediately. Your eyes widened at his answer as you blinked. He sighed as if he was at loss of words. He opened his mouth then closed it again. Shaking his head, before finally saying. “It meant a lot to me. I just know that it will mean nothing to you, and I just—”
“Who said that?” You cut him, sharply. He stopped and stared at you. Gulping, you bit your lips, it was your turn to look away and avoid his eyes. “It meant a lot to me too. I thought I finally can love you, without fearing to lose you.”
“Really?”
“Really.” You nodded, feeling suddenly all shy and warm up.
Daehyun chuckled, taking on step towards you then stopped. He looked at you worried. “Can I hug you?”
You frowned, raising an eyebrow. “Since when something stopped you from hugging me?”
He didn’t waste any more time as he pulled you into him. You yelped as he carried you and span you around. You totally forgot that both of you were still in the company, that any artist, any actor, any stuff or any trainee could pass by and see you both hugging each other as if you hadn’t seen each other for months.
As he put you down on your feet again, he wrapped his arms around your waist. Keeping enough distance to look at your eyes. “I love you.”
“I love you too.”
And your lips locked into the sweetest kiss ever. It felt like a lock and key. So perfect and matched well. It was as if you were meant to be in his eyes, being showered with his kisses. “I love you.” He whispered as his kissed moved to your cheeks, eyes, forehead, nose and then….
You jumped away from his arm when he was about to kiss your throat. You bit your lips, holding in a scream. However, you realized it was a mistake. Daehyun’s expression darkened as he stepped backward.
“No, no, no.” You held up your hand, shaking your head. “It is not like this. I am just a little bit ticklish and we are still at the company.” You smiled, rolling your eyes. “You don’t want to get all the attention on us. We would be dead.”
“Oh! Are you ticklish?” His expression softened. It was replaced by the smirk that made your heart go crazy.
“Yeah!” You giggled, as you pushed his chest playfully. “Stop with that creepy smile.”
“Oh, sorry.” He said as he tried to keep a serious expression but failed drastically.
“You are an idiot.” You said, feeling your whole body on fire. “See you after practice.”
“At our usual place.”
“Yup, see you there.”
“Can’t wait to discover where else you get ticklish?” He said and you felt like you wanted to disappear.
Daehyun is sprier than his counterpart Yongguk, he doesn't exactly always follow royal protocol or mention when things are just ever so out of place. He has a duty to protect the people of Himchan’s kingdom at all costs. He does so extremely well.
Skilled with both hand to hand combat, he thrives with a short sword, in stark contrast to the hulking blade that Yongguk wields. Sacrificing power, he fights with usual stealth and grace, rather than brute force. He is no stranger to the battlefield and is one formidable opponent.
