SUMMARY: Kihyun is up way best bedtime the night before debut. So Jaehyun has to help her sleep.
GENRE: Fluff
PAIRING: Kihyun × Jaehyun ft. Daejung
Warnings: None.
The dorm was quiet. We'd all been preparing for debut like we were getting ready for war. I should be sleeping like the rest of everyone but I wasn't. I was in the living room watching TV. Trying to will myself to fall asleep but I couldn't.
With a long sigh, I walked into the kitchen and grabbed a water bottle. I popped it open and started to pace. There wasn't anything wrong, so why am I not sleeping?
I made my way back into the living room and dropped back onto the sofa. It stayed quiet for awhile until I heard footsteps. If it was anyone but Jaehyun, I was fucked. I listened closely to the steps and knew it was Daejung. Not good.
I quickly laid down and pretended to sleep, I was good at pretending to sleep. I heard his steps come in and a sigh come from his mouth. "Ah.. This child," he whispered before I heard the TV turn off and a few things moving around.
When he got back to me, he carefully lifted me up, making sure my head was in a good position on his chest before walking down the hall. He opened a door quietly and whispered something, "Jaehyun, move over."
He tried 4 more times before I heard Jae's groan, "Wh-," he started but stopped and I heard the blankets move and Dae laid me down in that spot and I heard him walk away and the door close once again. Jae mumbled something I couldn't make out before he moved the covers over me and his arms pulled me against his body.
His body warmth brought some sort of comfort to me. I pushed myself closer to him and but I still couldn't feel the drowsiness i needed. I tried to sit up for Jaehyun's arms but he wouldn't let go.
"Go to sleep princess, you need it. Big day tomorrow. You don't wanna be tired," Jaehyun spoke lowkey in his sleep filled voice. "Like I didn't know that," I huffed, and rolled over to face him, his eyes were still closed but he kissed my nose.
"Tomorrow, we're officially idol's. Sleep and dream of that," Jaehyun whispered, so I nodded and nuzzled my face into his neck. Tomorrow, everything we've worked for will be for good reason. It'll amount to something. I can prove Kaji wrong, that I'm not a waste to this group.
With determination on my mind, I started drifting away.

Hoseok hadn’t been surprisedwhen he saw Bambi going out to the forest earlier in the morning. Daejung washaving a bath and normally Bambi would take that time to go visit his mothersgrave. It was a normal thing for them to see.
What Hoseok hadn’t beenexpecting was to see Bambi limping back into the house, a hand covering hischeek and his lips pushed out in a pout. In an instant, Hoseok’s heart startedpounding and he rushed from his seat over to Bambi. The Hybrid stepped back, pressinghis back against the wall, shoulders lifting up to his ears.
Hoseok knew very well thatBambi wasn’t overly fond of him. Taehyung had explained that it was probablybecause he was Human and ever since his mothers passing, Bambi had a strong hatredfor Humans. But in this moment, Hoseok knew that he couldn’t just leave Bambihurt like this.
“Bambi, what happened?” Heasked, kneeling down to the younger’s height. Bambi’s defences were up and hebared his teeth, eyes narrowed.
“I don’t have to tell you,” hesnapped, slipping away from Hoseok, making his way toward the stairs. “Where’sTaehyung?”
“He’s with Daejung right now,”Hoseok stated, cutting off the path to the stairs, looking at Bambi pleadingly.“Please, I can help you, Bambi…”
Hoseok had been desperate tobuild some sort of bond with Bambi, even super great. He wanted Bambi to knowthat he wasn’t like the people who had hurt him before. Bambi huffed andstepped back from the stairs, going to the living room. Hoseok hesitated beforefollowing after him, finding Bambi sitting on the sofa, the pout back on hislips.
Slowly, Hoseok moved to kneelin front of Bambi, his hand gently touching the Hybrid’s knee. He gave a smallsmile as he looked up at Bambi, trying to seem as inviting as possible.
“Please let me see, Bambi…I’ll at least check how bad it is before Taehyung gets here.” Bambi didn’tanswer for a moment, only meeting Hoseok’s eyes for a moment before he sighedand dropped his hand.
There was a cut on Bambi’scheek but it seemed that the bleeding had stopped and it was mostly dried overnow. It didn’t look too bad, just a small cut on his cheek, but it looked likeit bled a lot.
“What happened?” Hoseok askedas he shifted back to look at Bambi’s leg. It was a bit harder to tell what waswrong when he wasn’t exactly sure what to look for.
“My hoof got caught on a treeroot…” Bambi mumbled, eyes burning into the wall. “And I fell into a tree…” Hoseokcould tell Bambi was a bit embarrassed from the slight pink on his cheeks. Heheld back a smile as to not upset the Hybrid.
“Can you tell me where yourleg hurts? Then we can get some ice on it and wait for Taehyung to help withthe cut.” Bambi nodded slowly and touched his hand to his leg, pointing towardhis hoof.
“Your… ankle…?” Hoseok saidslowly, touching the joint above Bambi’s hoof. The Hybrid hissed, leg jerking abit as he nodded.
“Yes, there… But I don’t thinkit’s called an ankle.”
“I don’t know deer legs! Giveme a break!” Hoseok pouted, standing up from the floor. He saw a slight smilepull at the Hybrid’s lips before he went to go get the ice pack for Bambi’sleg.
Taehyung slipped Daejung’sshirt on and smiled down at him, pressing a kiss to the Kitten’s forehead.
“There, do you feel betternow?” Taehyung asked with a smile, running his fingers through Daejung’s damphair. The younger had dropped his cup while he was drinking juice and hadgotten it all over himself.
“Yeah… Thank you, daddy,”Daejung murmured, his tail swaying lazily behind him. After a moment, his nosebegan twitching and a small frown pulled at his lips. “I smell Bambi and hesmells funny.”
Taehyung frowned and sniffedthe air as well. It took him a bit longer, but after a moment, he could smellBambi and it did seem a bit off.
He could smell blood.
Even though it didn’t smelllike a lot, Taehyung still panicked, standing quickly.
“Stay here for now, Daejung.I’m going to go check on him,” Taehyung said quickly, kissing his son’sforehead before he rushed out of the room and down the stairs. His ears perkedwhen he walked into the living room, taking in the scene of Hoseok securing asmall ice pack to Bambi’s leg. He lifted his eyes to see the blood on theDeer’s cheek, his lips parting.
“What happened?” Taehyungasked as he rushed over to the two, sitting down next to Bambi. The Hybridpushed his lips into a pout and looked up at Taehyung.
“I tripped in the forest…” Hemurmured, seeming unhappy with the whole situation. Taehyung let out a softsigh of relief before he nodded, gently lifting his hand to touch Bambi’scheek.
“Okay, it doesn’t look bad,but there might be some dirt and stuff in there, so I’m going to clean it out, okay?” He whispered, waiting for Bambi to nod before he went to the kitchen toget the small first aid kit. He paused beside the stairs on his way back andlooking up to see Daejung sitting at the top of the stairs, waiting forTaehyung to say he can come down.
“It’s okay, baby. You can comesee him. He just has a little cut,” Taehyung smiled as he watched Daejungquickly make his way down the stairs, still being careful not to trip. Hesniffed the air and followed his nose to where Bambi was sitting on the couch. He settled himself next to the Deer, Taehyung following behind him and kneelingnext to Hoseok in front of the Deer.
“What happened, Bambi?”Daejung asked quickly, squeezing the Hybrid’s hand. Bambi huffed and turned hishead away.
“Why does everyone keep askingme that?” Bambi grumbled, his little ears flicking in annoyance. Taehyung sawDaejung’s ears droop a but and he gently rubbed his son’s leg.
“He just had a little accidentis all, it’s nothing serious,” he reassured before turning his gaze back toBambi. “I’m gonna just wipe off the blood and then I’ll use a disinfectant, okay?” Bambi gave a small nod and shifted to make it a bit easier for Taehyung.
He was careful in wiping offthe wound, trying to make it as easy as possible for Bambi. He could still seethe younger twitching a bit, but he was handling it very well. When he set downthe damp cloth, he pulled out an alcohol swab, tearing it open.
“Alright, now I won’t lie toyou. This is gonna hurt,” Taehyung murmured, pulling out the small wipe. “It’llbe like a little sting.”
Bambi frowned, squeezingDaejung’s hand before he nodded slowly. Taehyung took that as his sign to goand began to clean the cut, biting his lip when Bambi hissed, squeezingDaejung’s hand tightly. He pulled away the swab and smile, meeting Bambi’sgaze.
“There, it’s done. It wasn’tso bad, hey?” Taehyung reached into the first aid kit and grabbed a bandaid.“Alright, now I’ll just cover it up and it should be okay in a few days.”
He put the bandaid on Bambi’scheek, watching the younger frown when it was on, touching it gently.
“Why did you give me a blueone? Couldn’t you just give me a normal one?” Bambi seemed a bit unhappy as helowered his hands, his eyebrows pulled together.
“I didn’t think about it,”Taehyung murmured, looking at the pale blue colouring Bambi’s tanned cheek. “Atleast it matches Daejung’s eyes.”
Bambi didn’t respond to his comment, but if Taehyung saw his face softena bit, he didn’t say anything.

It was a loud, unfamiliar noise that woke Daejung from his nap that afternoon. He didn’t think he had ever heard that sound before, but he could immediately hear the utter distress in it and his heart wrenched all the same. It was full of fright and panic, and it was coming from the kitchen.
He scrambled out of bed, heart pounding, and took a couple seconds to feel around frantically on the top bunk for Bambi. His hands found nothing but soft sheets and a book, and his heart sunk when he finally registered what that noise was.
It was Bambi bleating in fear.
He only tripped once on his mad dash down the stairs, his little hands grabbing at the walls to steady himself as best he could. The closer to the sound he got, the less easy it was to stay quiet and by the time he burst into the kitchen he was urgently whining Bambi’s name.
Daejung had to take a couple seconds to regain his bearings once he properly set foot into the room – there was just too much noise going on. Among Bambi’s loud, terrified bleats were the sounds of all three of his dads’ voices and the association of those two things rattled Daejung’s nerves to the core.
What is happening?!
There was a loud, metallic thunk that could only be categorized as Bambi’s hoof coming into contact with the fridge, and then Taehyung’s voice rose above the others:
“Can you hold his legs better?” He sounded exasperated, and a bit frustrated.
Daejung’s ears trembled as he strained to pick out individual voices or words. He could hear Hobi trying to speak in a more soothing manner, his tone calm and even. Daejung took a step forward and finally seemed to be noticed.
“Hey, hey…what are you doing down here?” He heard Hobi’s voice come closer, then felt his hands press down the top of Daejung’s hair. He whined in response, before being able to find his words.
“What’s going on?” Even he could hear how pitiful and frantic he sounded, but he couldn’t bring himself to care when Bambi was making those noises. Hobi sighed and Daejung heard his clothes rustle as he either knelt or sat down next to him.
“Bambi is being difficult. We explained to him why we need him to wear a collar and it seemed like he understood but as soon as we tried to put the thing on him he started throwing a fit.”
Based on Hobi’s words and tone, there was nothing bad happening. Based on the sounds Bambi was making, however, that was untrue.
“He sounds like he’s hurt,” he whimpered. Hobi was quick to shush him and gently ran a hand down his arm.
“No, no, of course not, baby. We would never do that.”
Only a second later, Taehyung yelled “Done!” and there was a rush of sound from where Bambi’s scared noises had previously been coming from. There was a flurry of clicks and taps as Bambi ran by them, straight toward the back door. Hobi stood again and was silent for a second before hissing out something that Daejung was sure he wasn’t supposed to hear.
“Daejung, can you go calm him down, please?” he asked sweetly, but it was easy to hear how strained his voice was. Jungkook made a questioning noise and Hobi quietly answered, “He’s trying to get the collar off and he’s scratching himself really bad.”
As soon as he heard that, Daejung was making his way toward the back door quickly. He fidgeted impatiently as he waited for Hobi to come over and open the door for him, murmuring out a hurried thanks as he shuffled his way off the deck and onto the grass.
“Bambi?” he called softly.
He could hear frustrated growls and mumbles coming from Bambi’s favourite spot to sit and sunbathe, and they paused when the little deer boy heard Daejung calling for him.
“Daejung…I didn’t realize you were awake…” He didn’t seem all that regretful or ashamed that Daejung had heard him freaking out, and Hobi’s words about Bambi overreacting rang in Daejung’s head again.
None of them, Daejung especially, could really understand Bambi or his situation or the environment he was coming to them from.
He was just barely able to stand being inside a building for a whole day now, after months of staying with them, but he still got stir-crazy if he was kept in one room for too long aside from at night. Nightmares were a regular occurrence and Daejung had heard hushed, late-night conversations between Hobi, Jungkook and Taehyung often peppered with the term “survivor’s guilt”. He didn’t really know what it meant but he did know that when Bambi would curl up against him at night and cry for hours on end, among his sobbing and hiccupping were apologies and attempts to take the blame for the death of a mother who was no longer there to hear him.
Bambi had always been feisty and hard to please, but he refused to even let Hobi or Jungkook touch him now. Taehyung was the only one of the three he’d allow physical contact with, and Daejung knew that was solely because Taehyung had been the one to carry him back after they had found him and his mother’s body. Even then, his sharp tongue was softened for no one but Daejung.
Daejung wanted nothing more than to hold his hand and take all his pain away.
He reached out, and after a second during which he could practically taste Bambi’s nervousness, the deer’s hand slid into his own. Daejung flinched a bit when he felt how wet his fingers were.
“Bambi…? Is…is that…?” Bambi was quiet while Daejung struggled to get the question out, and really that was all the answer he needed, but he wanted to ask anyway. “Is that blood?” When Bambi still didn’t answer, Daejung shifted onto his knees and reached his other hand out, feeling around until he found Bambi’s neck. There was a smooth, soft leather band around the base of his throat, but Daejung could tell how tense his muscles were around it.
His fingers touched something wet and he stopped.
“Bambi…”
“I don’t like it.”
Bambi shifted his head, and Daejung’s fingers dropped from the scratches on his neck. They had felt pretty deep. Daejung was worried they would scar.
Bambi squeezed his hand.
“I don’t like it,” he said again, this time with more aggravation in his voice. “I don’t want this stupid thing on me. I don’t belong to anyone.” Daejung could tell he was getting more agitated, could hear his breath hissing out between his teeth, and leaned forward to hug him. Bambi was forced to stop his tirade and he hesitated only a split second before hugging Daejung back, careful to be gentle.
“It’s not so bad,” he said quietly. He wasn’t sure what to say to calm Bambi, really, but he was desperate to do it somehow. “And they’re only doing it ‘cause you’ll get hurt otherwise.”
“That’s not…!” Bambi pulled away, halfway to his feet only a second later, and Daejung made a distressed noise. He hadn’t meant anything bad by what he said, but somehow he could tell that Bambi’s frustration wasn’t necessarily directed at him, but rather at the situation the little deer found himself in. “I can’t…! I can’t wear this!”
Daejung pulled himself to his feet, urgent once he heard little snarls accompanying frantic movement of Bambi’s arms.
“Bambi!”
Daejung heard Jungkook bound across the deck and down the stairs. He himself was trembling and holding onto the bottom of his sweater, occasionally squeezing the fabric in an attempt to regain feeling in his fingers. His heart was beating in his throat, his lungs so tight he could barely get air in them. He hated the sound of Bambi’s voice so distraught and angry, but was too scared to reach out to him.
“Bambi, hey, it’s okay! It’s okay!” Jungkook’s voice was close now, just beside where Daejung and Bambi were.
The next couple seconds were a bit jumbled for Daejung as he tried to make sense of what was happening. Jungkook’s voice grew closer to where Bambi was, then Bambi’s voice suddenly rose to a shrill yell.
“Don’t touch me!”
Suddenly, there was no sound.
Jungkook went quiet, and Daejung himself practically held his breath as he waited for someone to say something. That never came, and instead he heard only Bambi crying as he ran back toward the house.
Jungkook sighed.
“What happened?”
Daejung hadn’t realized he was crying until he spoke. Once it registered, his hands shot up and he wiped at his cheeks with his sleeves a few times. Jungkook’s hands gently grasped his wrists and he pressed a kiss to the little kitten’s forehead.
“Bambi was scratching his neck,” he said softly, soothingly. “I tried to grab his hands to stop him but he wouldn’t let me. He just ran back inside and I think we should leave him alone for now, okay? He might just need some time to calm down.”
Daejung knew he was right, and that Bambi was probably too worked up to respond to any effort to calm him down, but at the same time every instinct in him was screaming the opposite. He wanted to run after the deer and hold him and cry with him until neither of them had any more tears to shed.
Instead, he whimpered and let Jungkook pet his hair and hold him against his chest, his little hands making fists in the bunny’s shirt.
The next morning
Hobi was humming to himself as he danced around the kitchen. Taehyung and Jungkook had gone out earlier that morning to do a bit of shopping – they were still getting used to having to buy different things for Bambi – so he had taken the opportunity of having less people in the house to clean what he could.
After he finished putting the dry dishes away in their proper places, he made his way out to the living room.
Bambi had been holed up in his and Daejung’s room since the previous afternoon, but Daejung had assured them that by the evening he was mostly just pouting, and that he had eaten his dinner without issue, so the three of them had agreed to leave the deer alone. If anyone could keep him calm and make him understand the collar, it was Daejung. He just needed time.
Or so Hobi had thought.
Once he was far enough into the living room that he could see over the back of the couch, he noticed something on the floor. Frowning, he pushed his headphones off one ear and wound around the couch toward it.
“Oh my God.”
It was Bambi’s collar.
It was split in half, and either end was chewed to hell and back. Hobi gingerly picked up between his forefinger and thumb, mouth hanging open.
The door opened down the hall, and Taehyung and Jungkook’s voices were audible over the music still playing in one of Hobi’s ears. They went into the kitchen, and once Hobi was sure they would hear him clearly, he called out,
“Guys?”
Two sets of footsteps walked over to the living room, and Jungkook answered him with a confused noise. Wordlessly, Hobi held up the leather band, disbelief still written on his face. Both Taehyung and Jungkook stopped in the doorway, and shock registered on both their faces after a couple seconds.
Then, Taehyung covered his mouth against a burst of laughter.
“How…the hell…did he manage this?” Hobi hissed. It must have taken a goddamned long time, he figured, for a deer with flat teeth like Bambi to chew through leather, no matter how thin it had been.
“You gotta hand it to the kid,” Taehyung snorted, still grinning like a maniac. “He’s got pluck.”
“He’s got something, alright,” Hobi muttered. Then, he sighed and let his hand fall to his side, pushing his headphones all the way off and around his neck with his other hand. “What are we gonna do about this? He has to wear something, or else he’ll get taken away. And God knows what they’d do to a wild hybrid like him, especially one as aggressive as him.”
Taehyung walked closer to Hobi and rested his hands on his shoulders, smiling softly.
“Don’t worry so much, okay? He’s still not used to all of this, but he’s adjusted really well to most stuff, this will probably just take time.”
Hobi grunted noncommittally, and Taehyung laughed before leaning forward and pressing a kiss to his nose.
“How about this? I’ll make him a necklace like Daejung’s. We can get Daejung to give it to him, and maybe explain in better terms why he has to wear it. If it comes from Daejung he’ll definitely be more receptive, right?” Taehyung’s smile widened when he saw Hobi’s resigned expression, knowing that was a nonverbal agreement.
“I think it’s a great plan,” Jungkook said, wrapping his arms around Taehyung’s waist from behind. Taehyung smiled and leaned back against the bunny, and Hobi murmured his assent, unable to help from smiling at his fiancés.
Two days later
A thin, braided band was pressed into Daejung’s hand. He gingerly felt along it with the fingers of his other hand while Taehyung spoke gently to him.
“It’s a necklace like yours, but it’s got a different charm. A little feather. I made it yesterday, and I need you to give it to Bambi, okay? He’s outside.” Both of Taehyung’s hands fell to rest on Daejung’s shoulders with care. “Do you know what to say to him?”
Daejung nodded.
He had spent the past couple days thinking about how they were going to explain to Bambi why he had to wear the collar, and he was pretty sure he had figured out the best way to frame it. He knew that was why Taehyung was asking him to do it, as well – it was highly unlikely that Bambi would listen to any of the three of them, at least until he understood why they were insisting on this.
Daejung followed his nose to where Bambi sat in the backyard. It was sunny and warm, and Daejung could feel like dewdrops on the grass as his tail swished across the blades.
“Bambi?”
“Hey.”
Once Bambi answered and Daejung was sure where he was, he settled onto the grass next to him. The necklace was clutched tightly in his hands, and he was sure Bambi was looking at it, but was unable to gauge how he felt about it.
“Um…I know you…don’t wanna talk about this, but I…” He trailed off, then shifted to properly face Bambi. “I think it’s important.”
At that, Bambi’s demeanor seemed to change, but Daejung wasn’t sure how.
“You said that you don’t belong to anyone, and you’re right. You don’t. It’s stupid that anyone should have to. But…” Daejung squirmed a bit, not wanting to accidentally incite Bambi’s anger, even if it wasn’t directed at him. “But not everyone sees hybrids like they should. Some mean people decided that they’re better than us, and that they have to control us. And it’s stupid, and it isn’t fair, and everyone’s trying really hard to stop it.” He slowly held out the necklace. “And until they win, we have to wear these, or else those mean people are gonna hurt us. They’re gonna hurt you. They’ll take you away and they’ll hurt you and I don’t want that to happen.” Daejung’s voice cracked near the end of his little spiel and he tucked his chin down into his chest when he felt tears start to leak down his cheeks.
Bambi’s arms were around him in a second, squeezing him gently. The deer’s face was pressed into his shoulder. Daejung could feel his wet his cheeks were, and laughed a bit.
“Why are you crying?”
“…’cause you’re crying,” Bambi mumbled, his voice muffled.
After a minute, the little deer pulled back and carefully took the necklace. There was a few moments of silence during which Daejung assumed he was fastening it into place, and then one of Bambi’s hands cupped his jaw, his thumb rubbing away a tear or two.
“Thank you,” he whispered.
Daejung smiled big in response.
The door opened behind them, and three pairs of footsteps made their way toward the two of them. Once they were only a couple feet away, Daejung heard Bambi stand and scrambled to do the same.
For a bit, nothing was said. Daejung could hear Bambi shifting nervously, and briefly considered saying something himself just to break the tension, but Bambi beat him to it.
“I…” The deer seemed to struggle to find the right words, but Taehyung, Jungkook and Hobi stayed quiet. “I’m sorry. I didn’t…realize. I was…I couldn’t…” Bambi cut himself off with a frustrated sound and Taehyung broke in gently.
“Hey, it’s okay. We understand. You’re dealing with a lot, and we can’t expect you to forget that so easily. We’re glad you understand now, though.” Daejung heard him move, but he didn’t come any closer. After a second, Bambi tentatively walked toward them, and Daejung heard Taehyung laugh a bit. “Daejungie, come here.”
Daejung reached a hand out and let Hobi guide him. He held his other hand out in front of him, relaxing a bit when he felt it come into contact with the soft fabric of Bambi’s sweater. Taehyung’s hand touched his side, and Daejung realized what was going on. Bambi was letting himself be hugged.
A huge smile broke onto his face and he threw his arms around the two of them, one hand on Bambi’s shoulder and the other on the back of Taehyung’s neck. Hobi’s hand rested on his back and he felt Jungkook ruffle his hair.
He heard Bambi sniffle.
Daejung wasn’t crying this time, but he didn’t say anything.
holy fuck this is so cute ;w; i love it so much!!!!
Pride Day 5 - Flower
Bambi hated when it rained. It would be so dark out and, as a Deer Hybrid, he would have to hide back in his forest den, curled up close to his mother. He hated the feeling of rain on his ears as well as in his fluffy hair.
He especially hated that Daejung wasn’t allowed outside when it rained.
Bambi understood why, the boy’s lack of sight making his daddies nervous. It didn’t stop Bambi from sulking as he waited for the rain to go away.
Thankfully it didn’t take long, sunlight shining through the leaves as Bambi crawled out of the den, waving goodbye to his mother as she laughed. He hurried through the forest, his little hooves clacking against the occasional stick or rock.
When he reached Daejung’s yard, he looked around excitedly for the Kitten, frowning when he didn’t see him. He looked over to the house, noticing one of Daejung’s daddies, Hoseok, was tending to some flowers by the porch.
“H-Hyungnim…” Bambi spoke nervously, having not spoken to Daejung’s daddies much. “Would you know where Daejungie is?”
Hoseok jumped at the sudden voice before he turned around and sighed, a smile spreading on his lips. He knelt down in front of Bambi and gently ruffled the Deer’s curly hair.
“I wasn’t expecting you to come up behind me like that,” Hoseok laughed softly before he looked over his shoulder. “And I think Daejung is just around the front of the house with Taehyung right now. They said they’d be right back. Come sit down, you can wait for him.”
Hoseok pulled up one of the patio chairs for Bambi, letting the little Hybrid hop onto the seat before he resumed weeding his flower box.
“…love them, Baby,” Taehyung’s voice came from around the side of the house before Bambi saw the tall Hybrid, smiling down at Daejung, the Kitten holding tightly onto Taehyung’s hand, milky blue eyes staring straight ahead as they walked up to the patio.
“Oh, Bambi! Daejungie was hoping you’d come today!” Taehyung said cheerfully before turning his gaze down to Daejung, the Kitten’s ears now laying flat, fluffy tail lowering down to the wet grass. Bambi could see the pink of his cheeks as the boy lowered his head, obviously embarrassed. Taehyung gave a small smile as he crouched down, gently petting Daejung’s hair. “Come on, Sweetie… Don’t you have something for Bambi?”
Bambi’s ears perked as he sat up straighter, his own cheeks staining a soft pink. Daejung took a hesitant step forward, ears twitching a bit to help him figure out where Bambi was. Once he was standing in front of the patio chair, shifting nervously in place, he cleared his throat.
“I picked these for you… I dunno what they look like, but I thought you might like them…” Daejung said hesitantly, lifting his hand quickly to hold out a small bundle of dandelions, the wet petals shining in the sunlight.
Bambi’s cheeks burned as he lifted his small hands to take the flowers, hopping off the chair to wrap his arms around Daejung, squeezing the boy tight.
“Thank you, Daejungie…” Bambi said is a small voice, holding onto the boy’s fluffy, blue sweater. “I love them so so much…”
“Are they pretty?” Daejung asked softly, his fluffy tail flicking a bit behind him.
“Yes… They’re the pretties flowers I’ve ever seen…”
