“I’m sorry... I won’t do it again.”
Send “I’m sorry, I won’t do it again,” to see what my character would do if they were in an abusive relationship and was just hit by yours.
Caroline bit back a yelp as Damon’s hand connected with her face, the force knocking her backwards. She stumbled back, losing her footing, and fell onto the floor. Her cheek stung as she looked up at Damon—who towered over her. “I’m sorry,” she choked put, her voice small.
She knew talking to Stefan had been a mistake. She hadn’t actually said anything—not anything bad, at least—but Stefan had that unnerving ability to just know when something was wrong. And when he grabbed her bruised arm and she winced, she knew that he knew that something was definitely wrong.
"I-It won’t happen again," she squeaked, trying to keep herself from crying. Crying would just make it worse.
Dream Help
Under the covers in the bed at the boarding house, Hazel was tossing and turning like a little tornado – she was caught in bad dreams she couldn’t get out of. She whimpered and thrashed in her sleep. The dream kept changing – but each time she was reliving a horrible memory…
She was sitting at the kitchen table back at home with her parents, and a broken glass was on the floor. Her mother was screaming at her, yelling at her for breaking the glass, slapping her….
The dream changed, this time her running up the stairs to her bedroom as her father chased her, crawling under her bed and crying and sobbing. She didn’t want to be hit anymore….
The dreamed changed again, this time she was crying and sobbing at her desk as she wrote on a piece of paper. Her parents had told her to write, “I’m a mistake and no one loves me” a hundred times on paper. She had already written it over fifty times, and her hand was shaking so hard she was having trouble writing it neatly like her parents wanted. She was crying so much she could barely see through her blurry eyes, but she knew she had to keep writing or she’d be punished…
The dream changed once again, this time she was backed up against the corner of her room, cowering from her father as he undid his belt. “Please daddy!” She begged him, “I’m sorry! I’m sorry!” She was crying uncontrollably, she was so scared. No matter how many times he’d hit her with it, she never got used to the pain. “Please daddy!” She begged again, but he had his belt off and he was raising it to hit her….
