Lana x Dahra x Mary Headcanons
Dahra and Mary start dating in either Gone or Hunger. Lana and Dahra have so much homoerotic tension Mary's like "you guys know you can date right?? I don't mind; I barely have time to maintain a relationship anyways". So Dahra asks Lana out like "hey I know we're both super busy and trust me we don't have to do anything you don't want to, but I was thinking maybe we could... date?". Lana says "alright I'll give it a shot" and the rest is history (insert 'healers has become polyamorous' meme).
Lana and Dahra's relationship is a lot more… casual, I wanna say, than Dahra and Mary's? Lana is aspec and not big on pda or physical affection in general, so to outsiders they just look like really good friends.
Quinn makes a move on Lana and she is like "wow. um. this is awkward. look, you're a good guy, but trying to juggle two relationships might be a bit much for me-" "two??" "yeah, I'm dating dahra." "isn't she dating mary?" "it's called polyamory, gaither. besides, don't you have a crush on sam?" "no?!?" "...really? are you sure?" "yes I'm sure-"
Lana and Mary get along well. Mary visits her at clifftop/the hospital when she has the time because a) she wants to meet her gf's gf and b) bc nobody should be alone that long. I think Mary may come off as overbearing at first and they would have a fight over that, but Mary might understand Lana's tie to the Gaiaphage better than anyone. Either they start dating or remain friends, your choice.
Imagine John trying to give Lana or Dahra a shovel talk...
If Mary jumps off the cliff and poofs, it takes a while for Lana and Dahra to adjust. They both feel out of place without her, plus Lana worries Dahra will leave for a more emotionally vulnerable/comforting partner.
If Mary doesn't jumps off the cliff/poof, I like to think that she "retires" for mental health reasons (the kids still love her, she's their Mother Mary). She and Dahra are still dating.
After the FAYZ, all three remain friends. Mary stays at a psych ward for a while, but emails the other two frequently. Lana sends her lots of pictures of Patrick. Dahra tells her about her own life and funny stories, real or made up. Lana doesn't like to talk about the fayz ("the only thing worth remembering about is you two"), but Dahra sometimes brings it up and Mary forces herself to remember.
