Soldiers were sensitive about their dogs, being forbidden to every play with any of them as kids, thinking it might damage the training, the thought of other owners disliking seeing their pets being touch seemed reasonable. There was no questioning her thoughts, to her it just was normal, probably not to others, though, something she never had considered.
