Eru's muse completely evaded me, so I'm afraid I'm going to have to drop her! Thank you for having me! I'll definitely bring her back when she decides to cooperate with me again.
We understand! We’ll all miss you dearly, and you’re welcome back anytime, dear.
It's one of those days where his mother is much too busy too zero in on his every move, so Shu's managed to sneak away without much trouble. Edgar is probably still down with his cold, as he'd told him a day before when it was only starting, so Shu makes himself content with playing on his own for now.
He is in the middle of making his snow igloo when the girl approaches him and asks if she can help him with his little project. She looks utterly surprised at first and he wonders why- maybe she didn't expect to see a little boy around here? It wasn't that weird- it was just a normal field. He didn't know. But once she gets over her initial reaction she smiles, and it is a nice one. It's one he rarely sees on anyone at home; on his mother or on his brother, or even on that other lady or her children, so he decides that it's a nice change, and that he likes seeing it. And extra pair of hands wouldn't hurt, too, so he lets her, but treads with caution. Talking to strangers beyond exchanging pleasantries because it was the polite thing to do was certainly not his forte.
She is fussy but not in an overbearing way. Delicate hands tug gently on his scarf, making sure it's secure and snug. Whenever a button on his coat comes loose from movement, she is there right away. She works extra hard on the igloo, too (which is really half of what it should be, but they tried) and when it's done the two of them sit inside, close together for warmth. Before he knows it, Shu feels himself starting to nod off because Eru's presence is comforting and warm. Suddenly, something wet plops onto his wrist and he looks up. She looks down on him and she is crying, and it's in that small, awful way where you force a wobbly smile even though you can't stop the tears from falling. He's seen it once, from his mother- that was when he knew he wouldn't stop loving her even if she forces him to study and practice and do things he would really rather not do.
He feels a bit awkward- maybe it is not in his place to pry. He doesn't even really know her, after all, and he isn't used to interacting with anyone like this save for Edgar. Seconds pass and he grows restless and fidgety because he knows this girl shouldn't be crying, she should be smiling as happily as she had been earlier. It doesn't feel right at all. So he takes a deep breath and reaches up and with as much comfort as a ten-year-old could offer, he wipes the tears from her cheeks and asks her why. She says it's because of a "dumb boy" who she thinks might not love her as much as she loves him.
"Well you shouldn't waste any of your energy on someone like him," he offers, even if he isn't the most experienced when it comes to things like this. He rarely sees his parents acting like husband and wife, but he knows they love each other in their own little weird way. Scuffing the tip of one shoe against a small pile of snow outside their little igloo, he continues. "You should...love someone who is nice to you all the time and makes you happy...whoever this person is, he isn't doing a very good job, so...if it makes you feel better, I think he's stupid for making you feel like this."
Then she smiles again, more genuinely this time, and ruffles his hair and hugs him close. It's hard to pinpoint exactly when it is that he falls asleep but when he wakes up, it is to his mother fussing over him and chiding him for running away and playing in the snow and falling asleep in the cold she was so worried please never do that again.
Oddly enough, as he stares down at his chicken soup, he finds himself missing Eru and her warmth, hoping that maybe they'd meet again someday.
"What a bother. This music is dreadful. I want to leave...let's leave. Right now."
♥: Your muse crying about something
It alarms Shu because just moments ago she had been smiling, but he knew something had been off. "Why are you crying...? Huh...? Who left?" Once he finds out the answer, Shu sighs and lets her bury her face into his chest. "Hey, don't cry...it's stupid to insist on making you do it, though, isn't it? So cry as much as you want. I'm right here."
♔ : Finding your muse wearing their clothes
"Huh, I was looking for that one...yes, I do have other ones like it, but that is beside the point...and it's way too big on you, don't you think...? I'm too lazy to argue, so alright, fine, you can keep it..."
"You are too annoying for your own good...the fact that you cling to me as much as you do is completely troublesome, and in all honesty I wish you’d just go away...I just don’t care about you. There."
