Peace is not found in the degree of our faithfulness to God, but in the utterly unshakable nature of his faithfulness to the commitment of grace he has made to us.

The joy or complaint of your heart always shapes your willingness to trust God and to do his will.

I can do all things through Jesus Christ who strengthens me ~ He is far more equipped... #goodmorningmonday #dailydevos #hiswordovereverything #staylifted #wakeprayslay
1 Timothy 5
It talks about widows and whether or not someone is truly a widow. I think I had this thought before, but I don't quite remember. Makes me think that they're speaking symbolically and referring to us as being widows. Symbolically speaking, having the things that we hold precious and dear and have "married" our lives to die. With nothing left, turning to God - that's what it means to "truly" be a widow, or at least that's one thing I feel that it might be saying. Life is hard and full of temptations and dying to yourself is difficult beyond belief.
1 Timothy 4
"Rather train yourself for godliness." It's not a complicated command. I really need to follow this. Too concerned with the things of this world. When I die, what's left? Such a struggle...
1 Timothy 3
This was in a sermon that Pastor Seth gave. Reminds me once again of how far I am from what I should be and how much more I need to grow.
1 Timothy 2
"godly and dignified in every way." Nope, not me. My life is full of so much sin, so many mistakes, and just so much wrong. Far from a life that is godly and dignified in every way. But, thats what it means to be human. We are imperfect and sinful creatures and God is all I should trust in to guide me.
1 Timothy 1
"that in me, as the foremost, Jesus Christ might display his perfect patience as an example to those who were to believe in him for eternal life." His glory, our story. Our suffering and wrongs are all for his glory. I'm self-centered and a terrible person, but it's all for him so gotta do what I gotta do and trust in him.
