Daima Majins
I forgot to post this in here.
And I’m so so glad Glorio was able to shine as a good guy.
I image he would be quite impacted by the adult forms of our warriors and start training non stop too.
I want to re-do his face tho…
Daima EP.5 (Spoiler) Review/theories
• While Panzy's eye color means nothing in regards to her lineage, she does come from an important lineage as some of us suspected. Panzy, princess of machine otakus. Glorio not immediately recognizing her by name or appearance likely implies either 3rd world demons aren't interested in the royal family in general or Panzy's very existence is somewhat restricted to those who live/work at her castle. Could it be that she never actually received a collar as a result of that? Is that why she wears the scarf?
• Glorio very clearly doesn't want anyone outside of Goku's circle to join in regardless of any help they can offer. (Not part of Dr Arinsu's plan?) No choice now. Panzy's a helpful mechanic.
• Glorio did in fact speak to King Kadan, who did not in fact request that Glorio seek out those who defeated Majin Buu; implying that Glorio "snuck" into King Gohma's castle & gathered intel on Goku & crew in episode 1 before being "sent out" by King Kadan. Even a 3rd world demon who does "work" in the 1st world shouldn't be able to get anywhere near the castle of THE SUPREME KING of the DEMON REALM. He was let in. Dr Arinsu popped up unannounced in episode 1 & Glorio just happened to be spying behind a pillar? Nah.
• The 3rd demon world being the biggest, (yet worst off) world in the entire realm might just maybe imply worlds 1&2 have slightly lower gravity, but probably not.
• King Kadan is a man of seemingly righteous anger (Glorio describes him as an uncivilized Mafia boss) who wants to get rid of King Gohma & somehow assume the throne of Supreme King. For "peace". Is that actually possible? Was he perhaps promised that position by a manipulator in the shadows? (Dr Arinsu?) Panzy said her father "only steals from criminals & only kills bad people", which is usually a set up for a heartbreaking reveal that'll leave Panzy in tears. Or it could be nothing.
• Apparently those awful collars even function as tracking devices.
• They even have onigiri in the Demon Realm. Cute. Implies demon rice fields & unique demon ocean seaweed.
• Panzy has a knife she hasn't used yet. Judging from all that courtyard soldier training going on at her castle, she probably picked up a few moves from watching & learning.
• It was nice hearing Goku introduce himself with both his names. His interactions with Panzy are cute so far, as I'd hoped. Panzy herself is charmingly stubborn, insisting on getting her way without throwing tantrums/ throwing a fit.
• In the 3rd world at least, the inhabitants live up to a thousand years. This likely doesn't apply to the Glinds who live for a VERY long time.
• Every Majin (demon) can use at least one magic spell. So could magical enhancement explain Glorio's strength?
• Goku can canonically touch his nose with his tongue.
• Panzy implied that there are next to no Glinds in the Demon Realm due to the vast majority leaving ages ago, as many of us suspected. Though based on the passive aggressive conversation Shin had with Glorio episode 3, there might be a handful of Glinds somewhere in 2nd world.
• So the stick with blue cloth tied to it from the OP isn't a grave marker, but a path marker. Based on the sound of the wind (in the scene in this episode) & the direction the cloth was blowing, you're supposed to take the path the cloth points to. (In the OP the cloth is blowing to the right, then the camera pans to the right, where Goku & crew are seen traveling)
• Panzy confirms that Dabura was still a bad guy prior to the events of the Buu saga, so thankfully he hasn't been retconed as a good guy King. (Wouldn't make sense)
• Dende's caretaker (nanny?) is cute. Hope she gets a name. Much smarter of King Gohma planing on raising Dende so he can have his own personal set of dragon balls & probably get rid of Neva. (So it was probably Degesu's idea)
• I want to know what those demon onions have seen...
• The Tamagamis have never been defeated. Their poor win streak's about to be demolished.
• Smart of Shin (Supreme Kai) to bring up the pin number issue with King Kadan, who introduced us to a demon (of currently unspecified gender) named "Hybis" (Hibiscus flower?) who loves ballet & will head out to pick up/help Vegeta & crew. Hybis also shows off a device that's visually similar to the dragon radar, but also Babidi's energy reading device we saw Spopovich using when Gohan went SSJ2 at the tournament in the Buu saga. Just cooler. (Panzy is also seen holding a similar device in the ED) I swear, if the eyeball on Hybis' belt turns out to be the Tertian Oculus...
• Shin straight up drops "universe 7" in front of Goku, who doesn't register it & that's hilarious. Shin also finally shared his suspicions of Glorio with Goku, bringing up things we've been bringing up & such. Goku was Goku about it.
• I wasn't ready for the children's book art style bit when King Kadan ordered 3 men to steal a plane for Hybis from the "Nemophy Gang".
• Man, someone must've put a plane curse on Glorio, cuz bro has ZERO luck in that department. A 4 day trip & it breaks down in 2 minutes. (Guess Kai-Kai isn't an option)
• Hope we return to Kadan castle from time to time to introduce us to a few of those background characters like cool, pretty, buff red head with the silly ah chest plate.
• Wonder if Glorio actually has any of that liquor King Kadan offered to provide.
• Cute detail of Goku carrying luggage with his nyoibo.
• I super hope that axolotl tailed stuffed animal Panzy brought along will actually be sold IRL. I want.

Can't wait for episode 3 🛸
DRAGON BALL DAIMA THEORY :
So we've all know since the Buu arc that Shin (Supreme Kai) can speak to others telepathically as well as read minds, but we've so far only listened to Shin verbally questioning Glorio, or have watched these scenes where Shin & Glorio are staring at each other. I think Shin actually can't read Glorio's mind & Glorio is aware that Shin has attempted to do so. Feeding into my previously theory about Glorio being manipulated into getting Goku to collect the Demon Realm dragon ball for Dr Arinsu, I think Dr Arinsu, knowing her brother Shin is capable of telepathy/mind reading, has placed a magic ward on Glorio's mind, since it's clear so far that Shin isn't getting all the answers he wants. Glorio & Shin's interactions have potent "I know what you are" energy.
Daima EP.3 (Spoiler) Review
• Glorio shows zero concern over Kibito, Vegeta, Piccolo & Bulma not being able to enter the Demon Realm without a pin number. Perhaps this "King Kadan" Glorio was sent by figured Goku would be enough to overthrow (kill?) King Gohma. Shin (Supreme Kai) keeps trying to make Glorio slip up by asking loaded questions in a casual tone, Columbo style. Glorio responds with either answers that sometimes feel rehearsed or changes the subject.
• Shin mentioned that there was no pin number system back when he was a resident of the 2nd demon world. He mentioned the Demon Realm's different ecology, which judging from the ED, will be thoroughly explored. He explained that the 3rd world's lands float, is confirmed to be a type of demon called a Glind. The way Glorio describes them is sorta similar to the way most fantasy races would describe/complain about elves.
•I like the design of planet Batapi of the Rakka system. We'll probably never explore it.
• "Demon Realm planes function on 'Magic Power', so they're very fast." But who's "Magic Power"? Hope we find out. It explains how both King Gohma & Glorio easily traveled to Earth despite how far the nearest "Warp-Sama" is. The Warp-Sama was confirmed to be the only way to travel between Demon Realm & the Outer World. Warp-Sama is a comedically sensitive gatekeeper. Classic.
•Kid Goku with pointy ears was surprisingly off-putting for me.
• The violently chaotic way traveling between realms is depicted explains why King Gohma & co. seemed so disoriented when they landed on the lookout in EP 1.
• Despite the relay point between realms having 3 colored hatches representative of the 3 Demon worlds, I'm quite curious where the hundreds of other hatches lead. The 1st hatch only being available to palace members of the 1st world, like King Gohma, on top of Glorio letting slip that only those of the 1st Demon world can use Warp-Sama is feeding into my theory that Gloria was sent by Dr Arinsu. (Glorio works in the 1st world. How convenient) Then again, he mentioned that select members of the 2nd world also have permission to travel, maybe implying that the 3rd world is treated like a peasant country. Glorio (& likely Panzy) are from the 3rd world, of course.
• Cute detail about the Warp-Sama's of the the actual Demon world's is that their design feature the colors of their respective hatches in the relay point. (EP.1 A red/grey Warp-Sama. EP.3 A yellow/grey Warp-Sama)
• Despite being 99% this series probably won't canonize video game exclusive characters, the seal on the Demon Realm tunnel (previously a means of travel between demon worlds) sure reminds me of Chronoa (Supreme Kai of time) with what sort of look like clock hands pointing to 12,2,3,5,6,7,9 & 11:00. (Probably just a coincidence, but Chronoa is certainly old enough to have done that when Shin was an actual child, given how he's often described as a relatively young Kaio-shin)
• The introduction of the stinky gas emitted by the floating onion volcanoes making the air heavy to various degrees will help make Goku struggling in any capacity more believable, up until he gets used to it. It's sort of reminds me of the heavy gravity on King Kai's planet.
• So there's a "Sea of Darkness" in the 3rd world that can kill you instantly. (Possible future plot device/macguffin)
• Interesting camera wobbling when Goku & Glorio took on some bandits outside. Can't wait to find out who directed that scene, cuz we see it again when Glorio "negotiates" his hotel room price. It also seems like owning a gun might not be common in the 3rd world, judging by the reaction of the demon who runs the hotel.
• Money in the Demon Realm (or maybe just the 3rd world) is called "Dokuro". The demons of the 3rd world so far are pretty cute in design. But that could change as we explore further.
• The bar in this EP has very mild classic Star Wars inspo written all over it. All it needed was a band playing a silly tune. (I NEED to know what the burger meat is made of) The bar fight itself demonstrated that is relatively strong in his own right. If I had to guess from what little I saw though, I'd estimate he's probably about as strong as Goku was at the start of Dragon Ball. (Not that I care about power scaling anymore)
• Goku's segment of the bar fight where he uses set pieces like plates and his environment around him was refreshing and probably Toriyama indulging in Jackie Chan movie nostalgia. (He was a big fan of Jackie Chan)
• I like the commercial bumpers in the EP. Hope there's more than 2 going forward.
• Lmao, classic hoodlum revenge. Now Goku & co. gotta travel on foot cuz Glorio probably can't fly. More adventuring, yippee! ( I bet the note left behind says something crass & will also maybe lure our trio into a den of, let's be real here, fodder)
•Looks like we'll meet Panzy in the next EP.
DAIMA EP.20 (Spoiler)Review/theories(yes, still)
• So, I've been watching every episode 3 times each since this show started streaming, & I gotta say, aside from the fact I'll definitely be rewatching the whole show from time to time, I can't help but think about how this is probably the last dragon ball related project Akira Toriyama was in any way involved in. That unmistakable charm has clearly been very hard to replicate for Toei post Z. Plus, there's the odd coincidence of Daima ending a day before the anniversary of his passing. I think I'll cherish this show deeply.
• Good golly, there's so much to talk about! Man, the animators were going all out to top what we got in the Super Broly movie! (There was surprisingly less Naotoshi Shida than I expected)
• Goku was pulling out every combo he could think of. & flexing his booba. AND BLOWING A HOLE THROUGH A MAIN VILLAIN! This Super Saiyan 4 form was on that early Z movie Goku time. Ruthless. Also, no opening this time. (But the song did play for the ED)
• I was wondering where King Gohma's scepter went...
• That brief underground fight between Goku & King Gohma looked like an even more colorful version of that trippy in-between dimensions place Gogeta & Broly fought in for a bit. Hope they put it in a game.
• Give it up to Masako Nozawa, she was probably either 86 or 87 while recording these episodes & still screaming like a BEAST.
• Cool that we saw a 2D version of the ring everyone was fighting in as Goku powered up before winding up his Kamehameha. So cool that it shot straight through the Demon Realm layers. The water pouring in was a nice touch. The afterglow on Goku's fingers was sick.
• While it's kind of a shame Piccolo did less than Glorio in this show, CLUTCH KING KUU, BABY!!! I was accidentally right to call him that before. Yay me.
• The way the Third Eye was destroyed was so ridiculous. (Affectionate) Classic Toriyama.
• Kitty mouth Piccolo!?
• I somehow feel worse for Degesu, if only for the fact that he has to live with a lout like Gohma. Being non-infanticidal & easy to laugh at aside, Gohma's scummy, petty & bratty.
• Almost had me with that Goku raising his hand bit. Hail King Kuu!! Wise beyond his years. (Bro's like, 2 days old)
• The return of the "Super Saiyan bargain sale" joke! Aaaand, no explanation as to why Goku doesn't use SSJ4 post Daima. Plus no name-drops for currently unnamed characters, but I'm sure the Kakarot dlc will fill in plenty of gaps. (That game loves it's flavor text & whatnot)
• Ultra Vegeta?! (Do they know...?)
• I loved the moment between Neva, Dende & Piccolo. Sounds like Neva won't be lonely anymore.
• Lmao, Panzy making Vegeta wave.
• I knew they were gonna do that "checking in on characters via special illustrations in the credits" thing. Chi-Chi's outfit is so cute! (How'd I not notice that before?) Plus Trunks & Goten got new rad outfits I'd love to see on their adult forms. Also, I guess the Tamagamis gotta go find their D balls themselves.
• Well, we never got to see the bug-fusion, but we got to see that pleasant medi-bug shopkeeper lady again. That Bulma bit clashes with the bits from the Super Hero & Super Broly movies, but whatever. Also, holy extra frames, Batman! So smooth.
• Classic Toriyama joke. An all powerful, legendary item that had a massive impact on the very history of an entire realm, can be bought in a shop in the middle of NOWHERE. I love it.
• In conclusion, I love Daima with all my heart. I might delete these reviews a few months from now. No point in them taking up space on this blog, dead in the water.
• Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going back to reading the OG Dragon ball manga.
"Tackle life with as much energy as Goku! I'll try to do the same."
DAIMA EP 12 (Spoiler) Review/theories
• Vegeta doubters going radio silent & Vegeta glazers getting louder.
• Interesting development, right? I like that Vegeta's (now) official ssj3 hair doesn't just flop against his back like it does in Raging Blast & Super DB Heroes. The hair clumps point out & straight back like holding a pinecone sideways. (Good stuff, Toriyama)
• Funny how Vegeta used the excuse of not being used to his child body, then almost immediately goes ssj2 in the Kraken 's mouth, then is the first between he & Goku to go ssj3.
• Guess Neva wanted to be extra sure that Vegeta & Goku, at the very least, are strong enough to take down King Gohma & his forces. Or he really, REALLY likes messing with people, as I stated in my previous review.
• Cool blue glow on the powered up Tamagami. The magic effects around Neva's hands were cool too.
• I'm gonna be honest. Tamagami #1 's "Final Challenges", while amusing as a viewer, would make me have a meltdown if I were an actual Dragon Ball character.
• Majin Kuu, you're so smart & helpful! And humble, too!
• Majin Duu, you're so... Congrats on the win!
• Panzy, honey, you should know it's not "magic" by now. Talk to Piccolo or something...
• Degesu seemed to react to Dr Arinsu getting a D ball like he & she had originally planned to obtain them together in some other way in secret, but now she's just going for it, with her 2 new sons, Out Of Nowhere. (He even tries making excuses for her) So now he has to pretend to be worried for the same reasons King Gohma's worried, while also pretending to be intimidated by King Gohma.
• There were snakes on planet Vegeta, who canonically don't eat biscuits & are probably way tougher/bigger than Earth snakes, given that they evolved under 10 times the gravity the gravity of our Earth snakes.
• Vegeta went from eating bug people on screen (like in his debut) to "Ew! Bugs! Yucky!" Bulma domesticated the F outta him.
• The kraken actually yawning in response to a Super Saiyan 2 Vegeta blasting his way out of it's mouth not only validates what Goku said previously about not being able to beat one, in general, not even just because of the child body situation, makes the Demon Realm krakens, in my book, the deadliest wild animals in the DB multiverse so far.
• Neva's kookie old man chuckles are cute.
• I love the cute way Panzy shouts "Yay!" upon Vegeta passing the final challenge. Super Duper cute.
• I forgot to mention this, but it would appear that Hybis had his collar removed sometime before the events of episode 11, like, off screen. Weird that we didn't get to see that...
• What's your next move, King Gohma? Gonna show off all that destructive magic power everyone's been hyping up? Hope so.
• A plane DIDN'T break down this episode. We must be in the endgame now.
