The Owl House (2020-2023)
an OC of mine named Demilia. she's the daughter of Demigra
I have this one AU I haven't shared, so I want to share it here now.
Celine being her usual pretty much good parent until demon pattern got mentioned and anything fly out of her mouth about them are very bad things that seriously hurt for Rumi which make her shame grow much faster until one day, when she was only 7, her patterns grow to cover her whole body similarly to how it was with canon Rumi post Takedown. Rumi has a very bad panic attack from it and her shame just grow much more intensely so much that she actually grown her claws and tiny horns and her left eye a bright gold with her sclera all black.
Rumi screamed, and Celine immediately goes to Rumi's room with her whole being worried.
Until she sees Rumi.
She stopped in her track and suddenly, her hunter's instinct and past trainings come kicked in. She think that maybe, this is beyond saving now. She'd internally apologized to Mi-yeoung before trying to calm Rumi down before secretly calling for her weapon from the Honmoon - a pair of sickle, though she only called for one of them - and stabbed Rumi straight to her heart to grant Rumi her last mercy, a quick and painless death.
Except Rumi still bleed and her blood is black tinted with a bit gold. So very unlike normal demons. That bring Celine back to reality that Rumi is still half-human and try to save her before it's too late-
Except her sickle was also fueled with Celine's subconcious to banish Rumi from this side of the Honmoon and onto the demon realm because she thought Rumi is becoming too demony.
And it did what it was told to do, and Rumi suddenly fell into the floor that suddenly became transparent and shows the grim environment of the Demon realm. Rumi panicked, didn't get to register the pain at all as her body fell. Her scream is of pain, physically and mentally.
She felt betrayed by the one person she thought as a mother even if Celine insisted to not call her Eomma. But the bad feeling of getting betrayed also a bit soothed when she sees a flash of realization of Celine's eyes as she tries to catch Rumi's desperately reaching hand to grip on anything to stay. But she can't.
She.. Can't...
The Honmoon flashed and suddenly the tear is gone and all that Rumi sees is the dark sky of the Demon Realm when Celine suddenly lost sight of Rumi when the floor is back again.
As Rumi fell down, the voices in her head got louder - but it's not Gwi-ma. Instead it's the voice of Celine who spoke of Demon badly and Rumi's own voice who mocked herself. Her head is so loud until she felt a sharp pain jolting her whole body before she eventually blacked out.
When she woke up, she's not on the ground like she thought she would - instead she's inside someone's bedroom (a very traditional bedroom, mind you) with a giant demon with bulky features and horns. It's one of the beastly demon and Rumi immediately backed away from it, expression morphed into one of fear. The Demon blinked and it's expression turn in one of sllight panic before trying to speak in a very old korean language that Rumi doesn't know about.
But it seems to reallize that Rumi doesn't understand a thing, and Rumi noticed how there is a genuine effort to switch from the ancient korean language into one of the more modern version.
"Do not be afraid, child." It says, "I'm here to help you."
Rumi is still confused, so she goes onto the defensive. Snarling and growling at the bigger demon, hopping she'll come out alive at the very least, even if she know she's not strong enough to fight against it. The Demon let out some soothing noises instead though. A soft rumbling.
"You've broken plenty of your bones, and you got a stab wound there." It told her as it pointed at Rumi's gauze wrapped chest, "I was here to check up on you."
Rumi narrow her eyes in distrust, what little of the Honmoon power she can pull out swirl around her right hand who has noticeably less sharp claws compared to her left one. The Demon watched in shock, it looked Rumi up and down and seems to realize something - even if here is still a bit of confusion in it's eyes.
The Demon eventually sigh, "Sit down, cub. You must rest even if we had treated your wounds."
Rumi bare her fanged teeth, a small tusks making their appearance, "We?"
'Huh, cute. Definitely a cub. Lion kind of demon?? Weird still, since if I'm correct that he is her father - he's not an animal demon.' The Demon thought, "Yes, we. We as in me and the whole village who saw a kid fell from the sky and screamed so loud even the Honmoon seemed to shook in grief. You are clearly not meant to be here, especially if you can't hear his voice."
Rumi stopped at that, "His.. Voice..?"
The demon nodded, "Gwi-ma's. Did you hear his voice?"
Rumi think hard, "No.. No I didn't.. If there are any, than it'd be.. My own memories of what she said about demons.."
Than, with a smaller voice, "And how I agreed full heartedly about it.."
The demon purred softly, understand that this cub is scared and whoever taken care of her up there on the mortal realm - maybe the cub's only pride who is also (maybe) her adoptive mother - had folded some certain way of thinking about demon kind. It's fair, to be honest. As whoever taken care of this cub probably know nothing about demon patterns and Gwi-ma's power like every new generation of hunters who somehow doesn't inherit the knowledge about demon patterns being fueled by shame - well, except for this cub's biological mother who should've known.
But the demon also know that woman was death on the same day this cub's father was banished by the woman's hunter friend to the demon realm.
Now that the demon thought about it, it wondered if it should bring the cub to her father...
It's probably a bad idea.
Gwi-ma doesn't know about the cub from what it seems, especially since he had severeed his connection with Gwi-ma from a long time ago. So if she give the cub back to him, than she might become a target too like his father is now. Wanted by Gwi-ma for his deflection. The only reason why he still can live in their village is that he's strong and smart enough to kept the danger out of the village, and because the noodles he sells are genuinely good. Even if no one really interacted with him unless if it's for business. Noodle business. (They can get hungry and souls aren't the only source of food, mind you.)
The demon let out a long sigh as it tentatively side hugged the now sniffling cub. It should ask for the cub's name.. Yeah.. Maybe later.
Now? Now it has to somohow gained the cub's trust enough for her to let it check her wounds properly in case there are some they missed before.
------
It took one whole week for Rumi to eventually heal all her wounds - Honmoon weapons does has bigger effect for demons. And since she's also half-human - whom half-human also a hunter, so.. Uh.. Half-Huntet - which means she still bleed.
She'd than given one-person tradtional styled home in the demon village. Knowing there is no where else to go, she stayed and secretly try to continue her hunter training herself. Mostly to protect herself.
She'd than warmed up to the villagers and will feel bad for anyone who suddenly got Gwi-ma's voices in their head, especially the ones who got called to the throne. She'd always try to help verbally, especially to said demon's pack because there are chances for them to die before they can go back.
Rumi would still sing, and her voice somehow always manage to shut the voices in the demon's head. That's how she gets money because the demons would pay for her to sing, to give them relief from the voices in their head.
(Rumi thankfully found her guittar randomly teleported right next to her bed. She doesn't know how that is and when she asked around, the demon only said that you are allowed to bring something of your greatest possession down to the demon realm. She guessed that because she missed Celine so much she's suddenly gifted with her first and favorite guittar which she gotten from Celine.)
She also learned of her new power too. Now adays she prefered to teleport instead of walking. Unless if she's doing her morning exercises which include running around the village.
Beside that, she also now worked for the demon whom checked up in her the first time she woke up not on her bed. That demon turned out to be a he and his name is Hyun-woo. He's a fisherman and she liked helping him out while also getting some money out of it. She also get to know his other crewmates and she called them Uncle and Aunt. Hyun-woo is her favorite uncle though.
She'd meet her dad eventually when she's curious about his seemingly always empty noodle stand despite everyone actually liking and recomending his noodle - though not to stay for long since she had heard that the owner is wanted by Gwi-ma. Not that she cared. If Gwi-ma knows of her existance than she'd also wanted by him and than maybe she and whoever the owner of this noodle shop is can become 'Wanted by Gwi-ma' Buddies!
Anyway, when Rumi came to the noodle place, her dad immediately clocked her as his daughter even when Rumi is still oblivious. Rumi's dad who noticed just how young Rumi is start to feel his anger boil for Celine, knowing that she'd be the one whom supposedly taking his daughter in. He also grow attached to her quickly the more they talked about mundane things. He also offer her his noddle with the lowest of price only for her (not that she knew that) in his attempt to get her to comeback again.
It worked, and they talked so much and his father only revealed that he is her father on her 11th birthday. Which means on her 4 years of living down in the underworld.
(Also, his name in my every AU would be Eunho)
Anyway, fast forward she grow up in the underworld... Meeting the Saja Boys and become besties and even lover with Jinu while also developing a fuckin brotherhood with Abby of all people- Blablabla......
Anyway, like my other AU, Eunho was a general before he was a demon and continued to be Gwi-ma's general until he defleted. But his past occupation as Gwi-ma's general make him has this fire element. A gift from Gwi-ma to strengthen his demon military. It used to be purple, but gradually turn blue as he found his freedom with Mi-yeong and stayed free from Gwi-ma even post Mi-yeong's death and his banishment by Celine from the mortal world.
Rumi obviously will have fire power too. Also a blue fire.
By the way, you guys remember Hunter's lullaby? The one sung by little Rumi? Yeah, how about if something similar also sung down in the demon realm...
Like, if there is this version:
"We are Hunters voices strong,
Slaying demons with our songs.
Fix the world and make it right..
When darkness finally meet the light."
Than there is one also sung by the demons; higher up demons mostly, or the one who had lived long enough to know of this song:
"We are demons known no peace,
Stealing souls with hurling growl.
Leave the world and don't look back..
When will the light see the dark?
It's actually a prophecy, one that Gwi-ma is scared of and one that the early generations of hunters clocked immediately to be a sign that the ultimate salvation has to be for The Light (Hunters) to see something from The Dark (Demons) and for both side to finally meet - or to be specific, for the light to be the one who approached first - hence why there are many attempts at diplomatic way to solve this seemingly never ending war between Hunters and Demons. Except somewhere along the way something happened that make a past hunter to change the meaning into the hunters to ultimately defeats the dark - she probably has yet to hear the demon's version of the lullaby. Hence why the Hunters start to lean more onto violence.
Eunho eventually told Rumi about this when she first heard of the demon version of the lullaby. Maybe Hyun-woo who sang it and Rumi somehow completed the song by singing the Hunter's version which makes Rumi feel a bit weird because what do you mean the Demons also had been singing the same - or similar - song.
And she'd like. What?!?!
(She doesn't immediately clocked that the The Light (Mi-yeong) had seen something in The Dark (Eunho) and had approched The Dark. Making the Dark to eventually sees good in light.)
(But Eunho knows. Hence why Gwi-ma was so adamant in catching him.)
This will lead to Eunho bringing Rumi to a grave stone, one that is directly under Mi-yeong's grave on the mortal world. But it wasn't hers - instead the grave is of a long since dead demon who was also the first demon.
Or, well, the first half demon whom demon side started the demon kind. The one who was told to be the one who kept the peace between both worlds centuries ago.
"His grave hold his memories." Eunho told her, "You might want to know."
Rumi would get very confused, and proced to get closer to the grave stone and even touched it - which gives an electrifying feels that immediately bring Rumi's subconcious into not just the long dead man's memories, but also flashes of both Eunho and Mi-yeong's memories.
Seeing them will have Rumi ended up somewhere totally white with only her mother in front of her - or the ghost of her mother.
"You've grown so much." She'd say, "I am so gkad that I get to see you beyond your baby self.."
And than she'd begone and Rumi would be left of an heirloom - her parents weeding ring. Mi-yeong's weeding ring.
But Mi-yeong's gone before Rumi can reach her.
Eunho would also give her his weeding ring too while he hugged her tightly. Whatever she saw must be so much. And one sentence in particular rang in her head as she can feel her soul burn ablaze.
"Take what I bear - So long we keep on burning, than our fire shall control and put out the eternal flame of war between the demons and the hunters"
The sky of the demon realm had never been brighter that night as the Tiger Constellation shone.
And the demon realm itself had never been brighter than when Rumi turned more demon-y with horns coming out of her hairline, fingers and nails sharpened and elongated into claws, and her fangs even longer and bigger. Tusks growing out just beside her fangs.
Her patterns burned blue with flickering blue fire and so does the edges of her long braided hair. Her Jeosoung Saja outfit now ripped from her right shoulder and down to her hips, now exposing the purple shaded right arm and claws that looks more demonic than her left one.
When it was done, Rumi decided that she will have to destroy Gwi-ma entirely. But she need a plan... One that won't backfire on her..
And than she remembered the idea Jinu had about making a demon boyband cus it sounds fun, even if only in her village cus out of everyone down here, only demons of her village that really appreciate music - especially since she sang for them often though mostly to block Gwi-ma's voices. It was something he had randomly thought about one day and seemed to somehow grow attached to.
... Hm...
A plan formed inside her head - and while this will need some human souls sacrificed, but the outcome should somehow justify it....
------
Sometimes later, Saja Boys come to exist. Still went the same like in the movie where Jinu proposed the idea.
Except unknown to Gwi-ma is that there is one more player just behind the curtain - the one person who helped with the song and photography, the Saja Boys secret Manager.
It was all part of Rumi's plan. The fact that Gwi-ma doesn't know of her existance and that he had been so far out of touch from the village she lived in since she'd often sing there and creating a mini Honmoon surrounding her village (that shuts Gwi-ma's voice out while also severed the connections) also helped so much.
(The very thing she may or may not had gotten followers and fans from all over the demon realm when the news carefully spread so that the demons may have seconds of salvation without their only chances of it died first to Gwi-ma's hand)
She'd often appearing at the human realm. The Jinu meeting Rumi scene in the movie turned to become Jinu and Rumi meeting Zoemira together.
But it doesn't goes far to the point of Rumi promising them victory - even when she gets so close to them. She'd still sabotage them both on stage that doesn't necessarily destroying their image to the fans but definitely forcing them both to let show their true selves beyond the controlled facade, including their shames, feelings, secrets and jagged edges. Causing the catalyst to crack the Honmoon open, to start destroying it.
Things happens... Yada yada... They goes to Celine to ask for help.. They go the Namsan Tower together as a trio consisted of Zoey, amira and Celine.....
Until Rumi sang that one Jinu's Lament song except it's the longer version I found on youtube....
It's this one.
She came and giving haunting vibes.... Some talk of truths and feelings.... And than 'What It Sounds Like' happens. Except it's not just the human's crowds that sing along - the demons around there also sing along as they felt the hope.
In the end Gwi-ma lost ... Some talk between the hunters back stage.... Rumi suddenly crowded by the demons around there and nominated as the new Demon Lord by the old rule of whoever kill the demon king shall be the new king and also because everyone had been rooting for her to be the new demon lord.
(Especially since sometime before the Saja Boys come to be and after Rumi saw the whole prophecy at the grave - Rumi was treated to a duel by Gwi-ma when he found out about her and how she had seemed to have more followers than him. He felt that his position is threatened.
Rumi won that time though, but she also humiliate him by letting him live after she beat him up. It was mostly because she knows that hse doesn't want to be a heartless killer like him and because of how bad their fight was affecting the demon realm - it was a wreck of blue and purple fire and many fell victim to the end blow of each clash they had.
When she realized that she kinda humiliate him, she suddenly has this twisted happy feeling)
Rumi going back to the demon realm except she goes back to her childhood home with Abby in tow to help her bring her other guitars left there (she had MANY! SO FUCKING MUCHH!! But Abby is a good older brother -figure- so he gotta help her!)
Rumi befriending Zoemira and visits them often and even making appearance with them - which making the internet wild because WHAT DO YOU MEAN RYU MI-YEONG'S DAUGHTER IS FUCKIN' ALIVE???!! I THOUGHT SHE WAS DEATH??????
She also do concert in the demon realm later. Sometimes joining in as the honorary Huntr/x member when Zoemira has concerts to be done...
Also.. Uh.. Imma name this AU: The Prophesied Tiger.
Demon god from another universe in another realm.
K-Pop Demon Hunters fic idea: The Honmoon is sealing and the Saja Boys are going to be sent back to the demon realm, at the last possible second Rumi pushes herself between them and the Honmoon and gets trapped in the demon realm instead.

The kettle whistled, the sharp sound splitting through the silence of the tiny house, an escape of steam from a metal shell that had seen better days. Dust motes danced in the trailing beams of golden sunlight coming in through the windows he’d finally gotten around to wiping clean. The tiny dots of light scattered in the stream of steam, their slow motion disrupted into a chaotic frenzy.
“How’d it go?” Garam prodded. She perched on the far end of the room, her long legs crammed into the tiny place between the coffee table and couch. She could be brash, but even she knew it was not the time for her attitude. “Ha-yoon took off on me, so I knew something was up.”
Gunha grabbed the steaming kettle and the water sloshed against the metal walls. He grimaced against the counters, trying to hide his reaction; his tremors were getting worse. That was one habit he never could shake completely - transitioning from using his right arm to his left, much to his detriment. The major muscles in his back and shoulders were starting to ache, the tendons on the edge of seizing up, sliding in their sockets and grating like glass. It always did when he was stressed. But if anything, he was one hell of a stubborn bastard. “Sorry to interrupt your fun. Again.”
The kettle rattled against the counter, and he set the device down with a thud that resounded around the room. He stared at it as if it had personally offended his entire bloodline. He huffed and rubbed at his wrist; the scar tissue under his thumb was jagged and uneven, the skin pulled taunt across his bones. The unsteady and unpredictable tingling numbness in his hand was getting worse.. It might’ve been easier if I’d lost my arm entirely.
At least that way he’d be forced to use his other arm.
