How to get a good dairy free cup of tea
Well I'm sorry to disappoint you, but the short answer to that is... I've yet to find one. But I thought documenting my search might prove more helpful to others on a similar quest, if only to suggest options you might enjoy more than I have. Option 1: Use soya milk. Sweetened is better than unsweetened, though they both have a distinct taste that I feel ruins the tea somewhat. Option 2: Use nut milk. There are various choices here; almond, hazelnut, coconut. Unfortunately they all taste of the nut they're made of, which don't tend to go well with the taste of tea, sadly. Option 3: Use rice milk. This is the best option, taste-wise. Rice milk doesn't taste of much. It does need rather a lot to have the same diluting effect as real milk though, which makes your tea cold rather quickly, so you'll need to drink your tea in about 30 seconds. In good news though, vanilla rice milk is rather good in coffee and hot chocolate, so that's a win! :)
