Do you think I can request Ruggie, Leona, Malleus and Idia with the prompt of them rejecting your confession (because they didn't think they were ready, dont think that you're a good fit, etc. Even though they actually like you) and then getting jealous when they see you being a lil toooo close to someone else. Uhhh, the details and who the reader is to each character you can decide for yourself but the ending is you and them ending up together?
Sorry, if anything doesn't make sense 🥲

a/n Ooooo now this prompt piqued my interest... I'm so so sorry this took so long for me to write, I had so many ideas for this!!
(y/n)'s thought of actually confessing their love to the one and only Leona Kingscholar was intimidating. Actually doing it? A whole other story.
It was hard to catch Leona awake, or alone for that matter. He was always getting dragged around by Ruggie after trying to skip his classes for a nap or because he was starting a verbal fight with Malleus...
For (y/n) this was a lose-lose situation... but they were determined to create a winning situation! That situation being to confess to Leona, Leona reciprocates, and they start going out with each other.
When they actually confessed, things went south fast.
When (y/n) finally caught him alone and awake, he was in the school's greenhouse, just about to lay down for a warm nap. "Hey, Leona!"
He turned around, very confused by what they heck (y/n) needed him for. "If you need me for anything, I can't, I'm taking a nap." he grumbled.
"No, no, I'm not really asking a favor, it's more of a... declaration..?" They said hastily, still trying to catch their breath from the previous speed walking they had to do to catch up with the lion. Leona's eyebrow raised, waiting for them to talk.
"Okay... um, I have feelings for you, Leona." Noticing his silence, (y/n) kept talking. "It's alright if you don't feel the same or anything, I just wanted to tell you..."
Leona crossed his arms and sighed,"It's nothing against you Herbivore, I just don't think I should be in a relationship."
(y/n) merely nodded, holding back tears as they turned to walk away. "Okay... um. Sorry, I'll go now. Bye Leona."
The young man raised his hand to wave a quick goodbye before laying down among the fauna for his nap. It was to no avail, no matter how much he twisted and turned, he couldn't stop thinking about how stupid he was for rejecting the only person he could imagine being in a relationship with.

The next day, Leona was late once again. The only reason he got up was because Ruggie had to call Jack for back up to pull him out of bed... He couldn't be caught having a first and second year wake him up no matter how much he wanted to sleep in. That would just be embarrassing...
Leona would walk as slow as possible to his classes, yawning with each step and apologizing in each class after the professor scolded him for being late once again. As he walked out of his last class of the day, walking at a sloth's pace, he sniffed out (y/n). He then heard them giggling...
As he looked over to where they were, he saw them with some random student that didn't look like any of their other friends. The guy was a Diasmonia student. Great, out of any dorm they could choose from, they picked the one he hated the most...
Whatever the guy was saying, it seemed to be hilarious and absolutely charming to (y/n) because the tips of their ears were red and their smile was bigger than he'd ever seen.
Now, maybe Leona was a lazy and unmotivated lion, but he always got what he wanted, when he wanted it. He was just arrogant like that. He wouldn't let them be swooped away by some guy.
"Hey, Herbivore, come here." Leona growled. He watched the way (y/n) jumped after hearing the tone he said their nickname in. Them and the Diasomina student cut their conversation short before (y/n) walked up to Leona.
"Hey Leona..? What's wrong?" They said, fiddling with the hem of their uniform.
"Why're you hanging out with some random Diasomnia kid? Whatever he was saying, I'm sure I could entertain you more."
"Oh, we were just walking together 'cause we have a project to do together." (y/n)'s eyes seemed to sparkle when they spoke about the student,"We ended up finding a lot of things we have in common like the shows we like and the music we listen to!"
Leona simply nodded, crossing his arms, feeling his patience waver. "Hm, I'm sure that was real fun wasn't it."
(y/n) could practically feel Leona's competitive and possessive nature oozing off of him.
"... Are you angry? And don't be sarcastic."
"I'm not angry, I just know you could do better."
At this point, Leona was growling with each word he spoke. It spooked (y/n) a bit, yet it was a bit frustrating after he literally rejected them the day before.
"Yeah, well the guy I could've done better with rejected me. Not that I'm upset you rejected me, not trying to force you into anything you're not ready for, just annoyed at how you're acting..."
Leona simply huffed. He didn't care much for being called out on his behavior...
"Okay fine then, go out with me." "Huh?!"
The lion looked at (y/n)'s gobsmacked expression, "What, I thought you wanted to date me? I like you back, let's go out so you can stop surrounding yourself with mediocre guys."
"Well now it doesn't seem genuine... and I really don't wanna make you do something you're not ready for." (y/n) pouted.
Leona thought for a moment, "How about I take you out to dinner then. My treat."
(y/n)'s jaw nearly dropped to the floor, laughing in shock,"Are you serious? I pray to the Seven you're not being sarcastic right now."
The man simply shrugged his shoulders and looked away nonchalantly. "I'm serious, I'll take you out. Maybe then it'll feel genuine when I tell you how I feel."
"You really don't have to do this..." (y/n) pleaded, still surprised by how quickly he made up his mind.
"It's fine, it gets my point across." He sighed, "I'll get you tonight. Be ready."
And with that, Leona walked away leaving (y/n) slack jawed in the middle of the hallway. He didn't even give them the option to decline... Well, I guess (y/n)'s in for an eventful night with Leona!
It was so stereotypical. The broke guy getting a confession from an obviously well off person. When (y/n) confessed to Ruggie, the boy knew what he was in for. This was all transactional. There was no way someone like (y/n) would willingly want to spend their time with him without getting something in return-- is what he thought.
"I dunno (y/n), I'm just not the type of guy you'd really wanna fall in love with." Is what Ruggie responded with, scratching the back of his neck sheepishly and fighting to keep his well known smirk on his face.
(y/n) choked on their own breath,"Oh.. um, alright then... I guess I'll see you around, Ruggie." they mumbled, walking away to who knows where. Ruggie wouldn't know, he was too busy kicking a pebble on the ground, staring at his feet.
This was a prank, Ruggie told himself. Sure, he'd known (y/n) long enough to let the idea that 'maybe they weren't really lying,' cross his mind, but all wealthy people were the same. Even (y/n), the person he'd been falling deeply in love with all this time.
𖤣.𖥧.𖡼.⚘
The next day, he went to work a shift at Sam's Mystery shop to make some cash. He knew that in his situation, he'd have to work to live, unlike some people he knew of-- aka, (y/n).
The day was unusually slow. Not many students came in, leaving him to fiddle around with random things he found behind the register counter.
Suddenly, the bell at the top of the door chimed, insinuating someone was coming into the shop. His ears perked up to welcome the person--or people...-- into the shop. Just as he said a quick "Welcome in!," Ruggie watched as none other than (y/n) walked in with some other student from Octavinelle. The guy was clearly a sleazebag: lanky arms wrapping around their shoulder like tenticles and a smirk that almost melted off of his face. Except, it was clear he was wealthy. His clothes were subtle designer brands that still screamed "expensive" at him in bold letters.
He knew that (y/n) wouldn't go out with a guy like that willingly. They'd never been attracted to the type of guy who wore sweatpants that were worth thousands just for the fact that he could flex the thousands of dollars he spent on them.
Ruggie tried his hardest to ignore the sound of their giggling from across the shop as they picked out random snacks and trinkets. If only he didn't have advanced hearing... maybe he wouldn't have to hear his crush be swooped away from him by some shady student.
His pupils contracted as the two walked up to the register. He could practically smell the sadness coming off of (y/n) as he wrung up the items.
"... Your total is $21.36. Cash or card?" "Card."
That's when the guy (y/n) was with took out a platinum card from his designer wallet. Okay, this guy was not trying to hide his wealth at all. Ruggie noticed how (y/n) had to physically look away in shame with a clear disgust on their face. Part of him wanted to laugh, but nothing was funny about having his crush go for a much wealthier guy right after being rejected by him.
As Ruggie handed over the bagged items, (y/n) told the Octavinelle student that they were going to "stay and look around for something they've been trying to buy recently." then told him to go back to his dorm room, apparently so they could meet him there afterward...
Once the door to the shop closed, (y/n) turned to Ruggie.
"I just wanted to say.. I'm sorry for how abruptly I went and confessed to you yesterday. I get if you're not into me and I just apologize for making it awkward between us."
Well, that certainly wasn't what he was expecting...
"Oh, uh, it's fine." Ruggie said rather dryly while keeping his customer service smile on. In all honesty, he really just didn't know how to progress the awkward conversation they were having.
There was an awkward silence between them, both unsure of how to mend it.
"... Soo.. uh, who's that guy you're with?" He mentally punched himself...
"Oh, he's just a friend of a friend. We're all studying together for the Potionology final we have next week."
His ears perked up at that,"Really?"
"Yeah, you can join if you'd like to! We're really open to adding anyone if their willing to study with us."
Ruggie considered it, then, the he realized that he may need to pay (y/n) back for the offer. 'Wealthy people thrive off transactions, there's no way they actually want me to join just to join...'
"I mean, I don't think I have anything you're looking for in payment terms." He spoke, scratching the back of his neck sheepishly and leaning on the counter in front of him.
(y/n) could see right through his smirk that he was trying his hardest to keep on his face.
"You know you don't need to pay us back or anything, right? This upcoming test is just so hard that we want to help as many people as possible!"
"Shishishi! You really think I don't know that well off people want payment after every little thing?" Ruggie giggled.
Through it all, (y/n) heard the skepticism and hurt in Ruggie's voice. "Well, I don't expect any sort of payment from you... I just wanna hang out with you."
He raised a brow, "Really? Then what did you want out of that confession yesterday? I didn't really think you were serious about that."
"Yeah, I was serious when I was confessing to you. The only thing I wanted in return was your mutual feelings, but I didn't expect it or anything..." (y/n) looked away, feeling shameful, "I just couldn't keep on living without you knowing how I really felt."
Now that REALLY stunned Ruggie. He had no idea what a response to such a heartfelt confession like this would be... "Oh uh... I thought it was like, a prank or somethin'..."
(y/n) gasped at the clear miscommunication, "Absolutely not! Seven, I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to make you feel like that at all..."
The hyena boy giggled with his wheezy laugh, "Nah, you're good."
"So um... what do you say to studying together later? Just the two of us in the Library..?" (y/n) flushed, leaning on the counter and fiddling with their fingers.
"I guess I could; I'm workin' till 5 tonight." Ruggie smirked. "what about your friends?"
"Oh, they'll be fine without me for one night. And um... I'm sorry if I'm pushing it or anything... do you actually reciprocate my feelings? It's totally okay if you don't, I'm not expecting--"
"Yea, you could say I feel the same.." His words were slow and a bit quiet, like he was still getting used to processing the idea of having a crush.
His ears flicked at the sweet sound of (y/n) shyly giggling to themself. "Okay, I'll see you tonight then, bye!"
"Yeah, bye!" He waved as they practically skipped out the door. As much as he didn't want to admit it, they made him feel a bit shy...
His heart pounding from the adrenaline was short-lived as Sam popped up out of nowhere in the shop and spooked him..."Wow lil' imp, you're a smooth talker, ain't ya?" Sam giggled while elbowing Ruggie whose cheeks were flushed pink, trying to laugh his shyness away.
It was no secret that (y/n) was crushing on the shut-in Ignihyde Housewarden. They were often caught in class and in the hallways conversing with the blue floating tablet that was Idia, flushing pink and giggling at all of his snarky comments that he'd never dare to say in person.
The only person these feelings were unknown to was none other than Idia Shroud himself. It really was a shame to not known that his own crush was just as down bad for him as he was for them...
While he was simply a floating tablet to the rest of the school, he got to watch the way (y/n) would smile and blush, listening to them fuel his ego each time their giggle game through from the other end of his Ipad. You could say it was a guilty pleasure of his.
Even though his heart beat uncomfortably quick against his ribs, someone like him could never be with someone like (y/n)-- in his opinion, of course.
So, when (y/n) decided they'd finally confess their feelings to the young man, he froze. Not from the embarrassment of it all--and how he wasn't even there (it was to his tablet) but I digress-- but also from that scratching feeling of inadequacy that bubbled up to his throat and suffocated him.
"Idia, I know that this is kinda awkward, but... I think I might have feelings for you."
From the other end of the Ipad, Idia squeaked. This was a pop-up boss fight that he was going into without built characters.
In his silence, (y/n) began to stammer.
"I-I mean, you don't have to accept it or anything... I get it was kinda out of nowhere-"
"I don't get it..."
"Huh..?"
Idia wasn't usually the type to speak up all of a sudden. But, he was protected behind a screen at the moment.
"You can't date a guy like me (y/n)..."
(y/n) was perplexed by his words. Did their crush really just reject them and insult himself at the same time? I mean, Idia was known for feeling low about himself often, but right after they'd just confessed?
"I don't get what you mean by that Idia."
The young man didn't respond on the other side of the line. He didn't know what to do or say to alleviate the situation, but all (y/n) heard was blank silence.
"Okay, I guess..."
With that, (y/n) left the scene frustrated and confused. Their fingers fiddled with the hem of their pants, holding tears back from how humiliating and heartbreaking the event was.
Idia simply sat in his gaming chair, watching as (y/n) walked off without another word. He felt himself cave in such a way he never had before, as if he'd been deprived of something vital.
𖤣.𖥧.𖡼.⚘
At midnight, Idia subconsciously hopped on a video game that him and (y/n) used to play together. They'd co-op and grind for hours until the sun rose, laughing as the other died in a boss fight.
He knew it was a bad idea-- checking to see if they were online-- but he couldn't help himself.
Checking their account, Idia saw something that would make him never want to wake up ever again. (y/n) was co-oping with someone else.
Idia could imagine it: The late night giggles of inside jokes only they'd know, helping each other fight bosses, grinding for characters they wanted, pulling for the same character together, ect...
(y/n) was doing all that with someone else that wasn't him.
Something dark and sinister began filling up his mind. He thought of all the things he could do to get them back. Perhaps he could get insanely good at the game and make (y/n) wish they were playing with him, or even eliminate the guy they were playing with!-
No... Idia knew he couldn't do that. After all, he was just a shut in, worthless Hosewarden who fell for someone way too far out of his league.
Instead of taking action like his ego told him, he simply sat and watched as (y/n) game status went from active to offline, (y/n)'s favorite character smiling back at him on their profile, subtly mocking him.
No matter how jealous he was of the mysterious person (y/n) was playing with, it was hopeless for him. Idia would forever be watching them from the sidelines with whoever they got over him with, plotting ways to get them back only to never commit to them, finding himself back in the comfort of his own lonely room.
*Ding!*
Idia glanced at his phone, jolting as he read (y/n)'s name on the notification
'Hey! IDK if this is a bad time but I was grinding for some stuff w my (friend/sibling) for this new character. Can u help me w a boss or two?? No pressure lolololll'
His hands started moving before he could even think of what to type.
'Sure dw ill hop on'
Once he saw that he hastily sent the message, he could only think of the ways that (y/n) would've made fun of him. They were probably laughing at how quick he was to respond, calling him pathetic or desperate, or maybe they were crying at how dry he was. I mean, he thought they should've assumed he was pathetic because he totally thought they were on co-op with some random hunk of a guy, but it was their (friend/sibling)??!! That is just pathetic behavio---
While he was busy having a mental breakdown, (y/n) texted back.
'Yayyy!! Can we defeat that dragon boss first? Its been busting my ass this whole night'
He was snapped out of his spiral quick enough to collect himself and send what he thought was a nonchalant response:
'Yup lemme hop on'
He thought his response was perfect
He got right on their favorite game, joining their server. Once his character appeared next to their's, the two quickly got to absolutely whaling the dragon boss.
Over voice chat, (y/n) squealed, "Oh my gosh, thank you sooo much Idia!! Me and my (friend/sibling) had no idea how to finish that thing off, good thing you're super good at this game!"
Idia giggled into his mic, the tips of his hair turning a rosy pink,"Yeah yeah, don't butter me up too much. That thing's not even overpowered, I just know how to build my characters."
"Ugh, I should learn how to build some day..." (y/n) grumbled,"... Do you think... maybe you could teach me someday?"
Idia sputtered at the suggestion, "R-really? You're not being sarcastic??"
"You've know me long enough to recognize when I'm being sarcastic or not Idiaaaa," (y/n) groaned into their mic,"But seriously though, would you be up to teach me how to build my characters?"
"Uhhh, I-I mean, uhhh," Idia fidgeted with his fingers, his crush-- that he just rejected-- was asking for quality time from him??? "I mean, you could come over rn and I could help--"
There was a gasp from (y/n)'s side of the line, "Really, you're okay with that? You're okay with me coming over right now???"
He scratched the back of his neck sheepishly, not knowing if it was a good idea. His line went silent for a moment.
"Sorry, I didn't mean to uh... force you or anything. We don't have to." (y/n) awkwardly muttered.
"H-huh?? No, no, I wasn't trying to say it was a bad idea, I wanna see you--" He jumped at his own words, "WAIT- Idk what I'm saying, just do whatever you want!"
"...You wanna... see me?" It sounded like (y/n) was in quite the daze from Idia's end of the line. He muttered a barely audible 'yeah', then proceeded to not get any type of response from their end of the line.
In an instant, (y/n) hopped out of their chair and ran to Idia's dorm. It might've been past curfew, but love doesn't wait for the morning! The sound of clamoring footsteps made their way to Idia's room. The young man shrieked in fear as (y/n) swung the door open, chest heaving from the jog over to his dorm and a handheld gaming device in their other hand.
"Are you- huff- you gonna teach me- huff- or not?"
Idia was horrified by the speed in which they got here, and he was even more terrified by the fact that they did all of that to get to HIM of all people???
"If only you put that type of commitment to your characters!" He shrieked, to which (y/n) cackled. Luckily Ortho had just started charging for the night, so he wouldn't have to lecture Idia on volume control...
"C'mon, just teach me nowww" They begged with the game already up and running on their console. "I'm already here so you might as well!"
"Fine, just go on my bed... or something..." Idia looked around at the state of his room, a bit embarrassed. He picked up his own gaming console and loaded up the game, joining (y/n)'s server. He really felt pathetic. He had his rejected crush over while he was a complete mess. He wondered how they would even want to hang around him at this point.
Idia's eyes averted from the screen to (y/n)'s pajama-clad body laying against his plush blankets, curling in the warmth as they waited for him to join them.
He stared, partially in admiration, partially in anxiety. Nevertheless, he stared. Hard.
"Idia, you okay? You've been acting weird all night."
He blinked out of his daze and averted his gaze back to the game. "Yeah, I'm fine... totally fine...," his fingers shook feverishly against his console.
The room filled with an awkward silence.
"Hey um... How are you okay with hanging around me after... that." Idia muttered as he sunk into his gaming chair.
He noticed how awkward he made scenario, quickly turning his chair to hide himself, “Wait- no. I totally just made this awkward, didn’t I…”
”… You never really answered the question Idia.” (y/n) said softly.
The boy peaked over his shoulder, slightly confused.
Noticing this, (y/n) continued, “When I confessed, you just stayed silent and told me that you weren’t a good option to date.”
“Yeah, cus there’s plenty of hyper normie guys out there and you want a shut in that’s only ever talked to online dating sims. Doesn’t sound like a good option to me…” Idia pouted. As much as he hated the idea of them going for some huge guy, he believed it to be true.
“Well, I want you.” (y/n) said in a matter-of-fact tone. Alongside Idia, even they were surprised by their bluntness.
They watched in real time as Idia’s flames flushed a rosy pink, it was quite fascinating!
“You’re so weird sometimes, I don’t get it.”
It was (y/n)’s turn to be confused, and a little offended. “Wowww, you really know how to give a compliment.” they giggled.
"But seriously though, I only want you Idia." (y/n) spoke with a tremor in their voice, "You can reject me if this isn't what you want or if you're not ready, but that's just how I feel about you."
Idia fidgeted with his fingers as he hid behind the chaotic flames on his head. He'd never had to deal with a pop up event like this before, how was he supposed to respond to a confession of love and desire IRL??!! The most he's done in the love department was dating sims, but that doesn't really count...
"You can take your time. I know it's kinda big to get into a relationship or not--" "No, it's not that! W-wait, I'm sorry, I just totally interrupted you."
As Idia rambled on, (y/n) nodded thoughtfully. His words were jittery, just like his body language, but it was authentic.
"I didn't mean to make you think I didn't like you or anything 'cause it's TOTALLY not that. I just can't make sense of how you want me out of all people--" He took a moment to catch his breath and watched as (y/n) walked closer to him.
"That's alright, Idia. I'm happy I know how you feel so at least I'm not in the dark about anything..." (y/n) looked away shyly, "If it makes you feel better, I'm still really nervous around you even though I already confessed. I constantly think that maybe I'm not good enough for you 'nd stuff along those lines."
Idia nodded and fiddled with a piece of his flaming hair before speaking under his breath. "So does that mean... we're gonna be a thing?"
By the way his eyes widened, it was clear he couldn't believe this was reality right now.
"If you'd like to date me, then yeah."
The boy wasn't sure how to react to these words coming out of the very lips he'd dreamed about kissing.
"Okay." His voice was barely above a whisper, but it was still audible.
At his words, (y/n) smiled, wrapping their arms around his neck in a gentle embrace.
Idia was stunned, frozen as they held onto him so tightly. Slowly, his arms shook and went softly around (y/n), awkwardly patting their back and leaning his head on theirs. At this point, he knew his whole head of flames was a hot fuchsia color. Maybe, if it was them making him react like this, it wasn't so embarrassing or bad...
(y/n) and Malleus were close. They were both so different from each other, yet they complimented each other in some odd twist of fate. Malleus had a clear fondness for the human. (y/n) had an interest in the young Fae. Yet, once (y/n) mustered up the courage to finally confess their deep and true feelings to the man, that string of fate snapped.
The night was calm and cool, the lamps around Ramshackle's dorm house were illuminating the already scenic environment, and heightened feelings swirled in the air. "Malleus, I hope you know that I love you..."
Malleus smiled at that, but even so, a foreign pit began carving its way in his stomach as they kept talking.
"Is that so?" He spoke quietly.
"Yes... I think I love you more than friends should." (y/n) muttered the last part, a little shy from professing their love.
Malleus frowned as his heart sank to that empty pit in his stomach. He knew what they were insinuating. He loved his child of man more than he'd allow himself to say. Humans were usually so scared of him, but (y/n) was so different from the rest. They took a chance to get to know him and learned to love him.
But he was a Faerie.
They lived so much longer than the average human-- I mean, he was already in his hundreds by the time he'd met (y/n)! Plus, Malleus wouldn't allow himself to let (y/n) get weighed down by all the factors of royalty. He was the prince of an ancient kingdom after all.
Most importantly, he couldn't bear to lose the one he loved the most, letting them die and become just a chapter in his long life.
(y/n) seemed to notice his silence, becoming worried as his frown deepened into what looked like he was about to cry.
"M-Malleus, you don't have to accept it, we can go on about our days like nothing happened-"
"It is not that I choose to decline, Child of Man. I simply wish for you to live a better life."
The air became tense and thick. It felt as if a storm were rolling in.
"I don't understand Malleus. I think I would live a very happy life with you... I understand if you don't feel the same way, though."
Malleus wanted to drop to his knees then and there. He wanted to profess his love in the form of a roar that could be heard from all of Twisted Wonderland. He wanted to find a way to turn the human into some type of Fae, whether that be with a potion or magic. All he could think about was (y/n) dying, leaving him to spend the rest of, what could be, thousands of years alone, wandering the world without the one human he loved most. While the emotions were foreign to him, they hit him like shot to the heart.
"... Us Fae... we live much longer than humans. It is not right for a human to become one with a Fae... I wouldn't want to lose someone I hold most dearly to my heart."
His last sentence came out as a hasty whisper. It felt so unlike him to lose his composure like this.
"Find a human you can walk through life and death with."
Before (y/n) could respond, Malleus had walked away. (y/n)'s awestruck silence kept them rooted in the ground while their mind screamed to run after Malleus and change his mind about all of this.
Instead, they watched the dragon fae walk off into the distant night, listening to the sound of rain pattering down onto the dead grass and thunder slowly rolling in.
𖤣.𖥧.𖡼.⚘
Classes went on as usual. Well, apart from (y/n) scanning the hallways after each class in search of Malleus.
Their mind wandered far. Questions of where Malleus was at a time like this, or, what he could possibly be doing to avoid them. Their school schedule was officially done and Malleus was nowhere to be seen. That was when they'd accidently bumped into a rather good looking student from Pomefoire.
The student was all chiseled jawline, perfectly set hair, and sparkly eyes. (y/n) had to admit, he was pretty handsome, and it's not like they've ever talked before. Meeting new people would get their mind off of things, (y/n) was sure of it!
"Oh, I'm so sorry, I didn't see you there!" (y/n) giggled as they stabilized themself against the brick wall beside them.
"It's not a problem. Hm, you wouldn't be the Prefect of Ramshackle, would you? (y/n), right?" The student spoke, quite eloquently to be exact. It was evident that he was a true Pomefoire student-- if the tie around his arm and his magic pen's gem weren't enough.
"Yeah, I'm (y/n)! How'd you know? I don't think I've seen you around campus a whole lot."
"Well, my Housewarden and Vice Housewarden have plenty of kind things to say about you, myself included."
"Awh, that's kind of them... What's your name by the way?"
This conversation went on for a couple hours, with the student smirking (y/n)'s way, speaking so smoothly.
Little did (y/n) know, Malleus was at school. He'd been there the whole time. He'd managed to take different routes to get to his classes which effectively hid him from the shame of seeing them again. As he turned the corner to leave class, he fully expected to make eye contact with them. Their sad (e/c) eyes piercing right into his.
Except, all he saw was (y/n) and a random Pomefoire student blatantly flirting. He watched the way the handsome student tucked a lock of (y/n)'s hair behind their ear, looking gently into their eyes with a knowing smile as they kept on conversing.
Malleus thought to himself, if only he'd listened to his lonely heart. Maybe then he'd get to tuck a lock of the human's hair behind their round ear, watch the wind lightly blow the strand against their soft cheeks.
The gnawing feeling crawled back up like the black ink of blot. No, it wasn't blot this time. It was pure anger.
The more he stared at his human with another, the quicker the bright blue sky turned gray. How dare that Pomefoire student touch what wasn't his. There would be punishment for this, Malleus would make sure of it.
Except, his master plan was thoroughly ruined when (y/n) glanced at him, doing a double take and swiftly running away from the Pomefoire student to catch up to Malleus.
"Malleus! Where have you been, I was looking for you?" (y/n) eyes were wide with worry as they looked up at the tall fae.
He had not been expecting such a passionate greeting, yet it didn't seem shocking to him.
"It does not matter where I was, that boy trying to steal what is rightfully mine… “ He huffed in frustration,”Why would you allow someone else to touch you like that?..."
"Yeah, I know, this is really awkward. I swear, I just... I was looking for you, I wanted to apologize for what I said. I just got caught up..."
Malleus was thoroughly surprised. His eyes noticeably widened at their statement.
"Do not apologize. On the other hand, I should be apologizing to you."
(y/n) chewed their bottom lip. "Well... I think you should know that... I'm okay if you don't love me back. And I'm really sorry for pushing it on you at a time like--"
Malleus put out his hand, reaching out towards (y/n).
"What are you doing?"
"Take my hand."
They wearily put their hand in Malleus's. His hand was much larger--just an observation...
Malleus was gentle when he pulled them to his chest. His free arm went around their back, his other hand brushing their knuckles.
"I want to apologize for the abrupt rejection. It is as I said before, I would not decline your love." His hand ever so slightly twitched. "I simply fear the inevitable future, as you are human, I would lose you one day. That is a fate I do not want."
"Then love me while I'm here."
The young man shuddered, pulling (y/n) impossibly closer to him.
"I will," He whispered,"I love you no matter the cost."
In their first embrace, Malleus got to have a laugh as the Pomefoire student from before scrambled to his dorm upon noticing not only the situation, but that Malleus was claiming (y/n) as his.
