Cosmic Creations- kagehinayachi- smol food truck!! a lil cafe sorta place, w cool drinks and lots of finger foods and pastries
Papa’s Crows Nest- daisugasahi- the best comfort foods diner in town
Shimizu’s- kiyoyui- 5-star Italian restaurant, Yui’s the head pastry chef
Teal- seijou’s patisserie, oiks and kages r both pastry chefs
Wakatoshi- shiratorizawa’s rival patisserie

-it started with a dare, btw kages n hina. who can make the best pastry and drink respectively, with the most uncomplimentary ingredients the other could think of
-both of them surprised the other w smth actually?? delicious?? tho
-its hinata’s idea. tobio argued for an actual sit down cafe.
-but what it came down to was money and after culinary school? and shitty part time jobs? all they had was Kageyama’s old flatbed truck, and sm grads who were switching from the food truck business to a cafe offered to sell them their old thing for cheap
-((actually, suga didnt accept any money, in the end. he and daichi and asahi all agreed to do this for their kouhai- it was a rundown stall anyways, and everyone needs a helping hand once in a while))
-suga daichi and asahi started a smol comfort foods diner!! it’s located near the local uni and stressed out teens (ie kagehinayachi) just come here to relax!! its v nice and they play calming music
- u think Mom’s Grilled Cheese is good? wait till u have suga’s.
- also yeah all their menu items have super parent-y names and suga always cracks Dad Jokes as a joke and Daichi,, well not so much
-yachi used to be a busser at kiyoko’s dad restaurant. It’s a v fancy one, a magnificent 5-star hotel chain sorta place, that was passed down to kiyoko in later years.
-yui is head pastry chef there!! she loves baking and makes the best souffle, literally, its amazing and one of the top dishes. she also loves teaching the other bakers. it’s always a sight to see her teach Aone a new dish.
-yui n kiyo r dating n they’re cute af tgh, esp when its after hours and everyone’s packed up for the night, but they pull down a few chairs and light a candle and have their own candle-lit dinner in the dark
-but sometimes they tire of rich foods and yui bakes healthy pizza (kiyo can b a health nut smtimes, tho she’ll have fast food w yui once in a while) or something in the mess of her apartment and the two of them share the fucked-up couch and their knees overlap
-((yui used to b SOOO nervous abt having shimizu over, her smol studio aprt is nothing like kiyo’s restaurant, but it works for her, and kiyoko tells her she loves it, loves the squeaky pipes and the leak in the roof and that step that creaks and the door that doesn’t actually fully shut because Yui has tried to store her bike behind it.)) ((actually they can do without the leak in the roof)).
-kiyoko got yachi the job there, since they went to highschool together and yachi wanted to pick up some shifts to pay for her tuition
-yachi, w her smol (read: GIANT) gay crush on kiyoko
-Yachi is Gay, but so are kiyo and yui (who started dating first yr uni!!) and yachi is happy for them. she gets over her crush.
-but it’s also weird bc kiyo has always been a perceptive person, and she feels uncomf displaying PDA w Yui when Yachi’s around
-not.. the best communication… but kiyo has nvr been great w words, and Yui has nvr not been a dense brick (kiyo knos, bc asking her out was Terrible)
-they work it out tho!! they’re all friends, they’re not gonna let this come between them
-back to the kagehina. Their food is actually super good! Tsukishima, reluctantly, covers them on his food n music blog- Taste Buds. however, they SUCK at financing. Seriously, a nine-year-old could swindle them.
-Hinata gives discounts or freebies to anyone looking like they had a bad day. Bc they sell to college students,, that’s like… half the student population.
-he even gives discounts to kids who just passed an exam!! like: congrats u passed heres a congratulatory GWAHH Pineapple Strawberry FrootLoops and Raisins Fritter!!
-ah, another problem: the shit ass names.
-Hinata’s naming sense is literally whatever he throws into it, and sometimes, he sorta forgets when he’s vent-cooking
-Kageyama’s naming sense is… more abstract.
-so off they go in their run-down food truck, which, is also, at the time, nameless
-they sorta.. had to dip into their apartment funds to keep the truck going after months of lost cash, so by the time they meet One (1) Yachi Hitoka, they’re living in the truck. Luckily, it’s summer, so they can camp out on the truck bed in sleeping bags and look at the stars (!!) but sometimes it rains and they sleep cramped together in the head.
-honestly they don’t mind as much as they should? the truck in their baby, they love it.
-Yachi minds. it flusters her but when she finds out the two r practically homeless a month into their partnership she shoves them all into her smol 1B1B
-theres only one bathroom and oh so much room, but, they make it work.
-at first she offered to take the couch, but hinata finds the idea absolutely atrocious, claiming they could ALL fit into her bed, or he would go back to the truck.
-meanwhile Kageyama is still obsessing over her kitchen, a REAL KITCHEN, tho it’s honestly a bit outdated, but it works, and HE?? HAS A KITCHEN AGAIN??
-so, bed it is.
((kageyama wakes up on the floor every other day, and hinata always end up with his elbow in this crick in yachi’s stomach?? but, it’s warm, and kageyama rises early anyways. Yachi could get used to waking up to with hinata’s body warmth and the sun warming her, and the smell of egg rolls coming from the kitchen. Hinata likes the smell of her shampoo, and he likes doing her hair for her (she’s growing it out; Kiyoko liked short hair but Hinata finds it cool to watch her braid her hair, and Kageyama will sit and braid the back for her with his deft fingers)))
-i guess that was v fast development, so here’s what happened in the month we skipped:
-yachi meets the kagehina duo , and when she’s buying a Twisted Swirl (it’s actually a churro.. she thinks? she’s not exactly sure the genre of this food truck) hinata lets slip that they’re having trouble with their financing.
-though she bussed tables, Yachi also sat by Kiyoko as she filled out papers for her dad, and well, her double major in Accounting should be used for something
-kageyama also doesn’t seem to hate her right away! his scary face intimidates her but Hinata reassures her that he’s actually very nice and that’s his smile! because he’s trying to thank her for helping them fill out all these tax papers.
-yachi also… redecorates. and renames, and designs them an actual menu!
-before, all of their menu items were literally Secret Menu. Tora argues that was the charm of it, but it’s not like he’s gonna stop buying now that the Explody-y Fizzy Pomegranate Juice Heart-Stopping Coffee (renamed: Pomegranate Buzz, under the Hot Drinks Section) now that it actually appears on the menu.
-in fact, now more people can ACTUALLY ORDER stuff- for the longest time people thought they just sold weed or sm shit.
-really, Yachi just works through Tsukishima’s list of complaints on his blog. Stupid names? Gone. No menu? Done. No actual set location? She makes one. Shitty people and too loud personalities and bad customer service? Well, she doesn’t do anything about that one, because she can’t help but smile at Hinata’s exuberant yells whenever they pass a dog, and by now she can tell when Kageyama’s smiling and when he’s frowning, if she doesn’t psyche herself out, and she commends his efforts.
(When he’s cooking though, that’s when his face relaxes, and there’s a soft smile on his face as he presents his newest culinary creation. Hinata, too, he yells and bounces around people, but when he’s REALLY intent on perfecting a new dish, he sticks his tongue out and blocks out everyone else. It’s a contrast to their usual personalities. Yachi finds herself staring sometimes, at the two of them.)
(They stare at her too. Hinata first, and Kageyama thought he was leaving him for her, and that misunderstanding results in The Terrible Horrible Night, but then they realize: oh.
Yachi accepts them for all they are, their loud, energetic dynamic, and she balances them out, curves them to a steady level without dampening the mood. Hinata’s the sun (they’re caught in his orbit), Kageyama’s the moon (distant but unfailingly loyal), but Yachi is their Earth, and she grounds them. )
(Now they only need to tell Yachi that.)
-and they do!! exactly that, cheesy quote and all, tho when the two of them became so poetic escapes all three of them
-honestly, they all started dating a long time, they just didn’t know it
((that night, Yachi thinks of the perfect name for their business. Hinata’s eyes go wide when he hears it, and there’s a weird look on Kageyama’s face. “Cosmic Creations,” Kageyama repeats, tone unreadable, while Hinata trills, while Yachi nods, shaking a little behind her clipboard. What if they don’t like it? What if it’s such a stupid idea and this is what runs them out of business and oh no Yachi will have ruined her boyfriends’ business - holy cow she has two boyfriends? Yachi has two boyfriends and they’re both really sweet but what if only one of them likes the name and they fight each other about using it, what if HER NAME is what makes them break up, what if-
“It’s perfect, Yacchan!” Hinata cries, and envelops her in a hug. Kageyama stands off stiffly to the side, before Hinata forcefully beckons him to join.
Their relationship isn’t perfect yet. But it’s there, and they’ll make it work. The first step is always the hardest, after all.

The next week the sign goes up, beautifully handpainted, swirling nebula in shades of deep blue, red, and purple, with the letters carefully formed, nestled in stars. The planets orbit the words, and the sun shines giant, the Earth stays it course, and the moon follows both loyally.
