Altschmerz laughs @ u write me every drabble
Altschmerz: Weariness with the same old issues that you’ve always had – the same boring flaws and anxieties that you’ve been gnawing on for years.
If he thinks about just how little Daisuke cares for school and the classes therein, Kou finds it weird how many times they’ve “studied” together – a word that demands quotations even in his head for how little studying actually gets done.
It’s a pretty constant routine.
He taps his pencil against his bottom lip, the eraser falling victim to life long habitual chewing ( Daisuke says it’s gross, but only when Kou catches him staring and asks ‘What?’ ) Kou’s trying to help Daisuke with literature, and he’s just not getting it.
Has he ever gotten it?
Kou stops tapping his pencil in favor of reading a passage from the text book in front of him, and as he reads, he catches Daisuke’s eyes on him instead of the passage. He has to stop himself from sighing as his heart jumps –
How many times is that going to happen?
He leans closer, says something, and glances at the other boy’s lips. Daisuke looks confused, looks down in what Kou thinks might be a mimicked glance, and leans away. Kou does sigh this time.
It always goes like this… A jump in his chest, a flutter in his stomach, a throb in his head – things that push him close, closer, but not close enough, and Daisuke, the freaking idiot, just doesn’t seem to get it even after all this time.
Will he ever get it?
