Bidding is open until Saturday, March 7th, 8pm EST for fandom trumps hate and this year @anxioustential and I both have offerings in the motogp fandom. (Pls go check out their incredible podfic offering!!)
I have two offerings with opening bids of $10 to any of a long list of charities: a ✨10-20k word motogp fic of your choice✨ or a ✨developmental edit or copy edit (beta read) for an up to 10k word work✨ (more on this below!!).
If there's a specific kind of fic you wish there were more of in the fandom, or there's an AU / drabble I've discussed before that you'd like to see as a full fic, I'd love to work with you to make it happen!
More about my beta offer (for any fandom or original work) below the cut! Please send an ask or a dm if you're at all interested. I'm very happy to chat. <333
As a professional editor, an edit is an approximately 30-40 hour commitment that I usually offer to published authors for ~$2k, however my minimum bid for this auction is $10!
And if you make a donation of $30+ I will provide BOTH a developmental edit and a copy edit for one work. (60-70 hrs of work, usually ~$4,500)
For writers in the Motorycling RPF or Formula 1 RPF fandoms: I will happily double my word limit for my edit to a fic of up to 20k words for a minimum bid of $10 just for fun...
This beta offer is a labor of love I want to share with you!!
Writers who hire me often describe my editing as: gentle, respectful, perceptive, scrupulous, and FUN. This is not just an opportunity for you to "polish" a work, but to dig deeply into your craft with someone who loves stories. My aim is to reflect back to you all the weird, beautiful, and delightful things that are inherent to your work.
"I learned more from Daisy this year than I did in all of my writing workshops and college courses combined. If you're serious about improving your writing skills, I highly recommend working with a professional editor like Daisy." — A Novelist, 2025
Developmental Edit: I will focus on the content and structure of your work, to offer an analysis of the efficacy of storytelling elements such as narrative distance, character development, and plot. A developmental edit will focus on the foundational building blocks of your story and the specific choices on the page where these blocks are built.
Copy Edit: Working with individual sentences, I will identify gaps in logic or flow, suggest revisions for clarity and concision, ensure consistency of mechanics and tone, and correct mistakes in spelling, grammar, syntax, or usage. I note places where spelling differs (such as for character or place names) or where formatting changes (such as with formatting for numbers, in the use of quotation marks, etc.). Although I offer suggestions for adjusting awkward or confusing sentence structures, replacing ineffective language, and eliminating redundancies, my first priority is respecting and maintaining your piece’s original tone and style.
