i write sometimes, usually poems, usually when i'm struggling.

this is the first one i've written in a while, figured I may as well post it.

this is for pop-pop, the best grandpa anyone could ever have

You are gone You have been gone Not long, but long enough

And I miss you

Its funny, Because I did not see you much In the last couple years But then again, You weren’t truly yourself

Sometimes I forget

But it is the small things that remind me

In your absence, It is so clear to me Just how much you mean to me And how much of me comes from you

I don’t miss you often, But sometimes in the middle of the night I realize that that you Won’t see me graduating That you never saw the Artemis launch,

And I realize that the you shaped hole In the middle of my heart Will stay there forever

I miss you so much And I hope you know that I am who I am today because of you And you will always be in my heart
