Every year on Christmas Eve, Cheryl Blossom invites everyone who deemed worthy enough to attend her holiday party at Thorn Hill. Yet, due to the traumatic incidents involving the murder of Jason Blossom orchestrated by Clifford Blossom, then the fathers suicide in their “maple” barn, and the burning of Thorn Hill set alight by none other than Cheryl herself, the annual party was now relocated to Thistlehouse, another property owned by the Blossom family.

Each year, something extravagant happens at the party. According to rumors, Cheryl hired an ice caterer two years ago and created a life-size sculpture of herself. The year before that, the Blossom family hired professional dancers from Broadway to perform a special choreography made only for that particular evening.

Needless to say, it was a night a Riverdale resident can never miss.

However, this year it was different. Since Cheryl’s heart was captured by Toni Topaz earlier within the year, the redhead decided to extend her invitation to the Southsiders for once.

Which was why Dakota Elizabeth Chambers was now forced out of her comfortable home by her boyfriend, Fangs Fogarty, to attend the party she really couldn’t care on going to. She carried two trays of freshly baked chocolate chip and sugar cookies while Fangs held the two jugs full to the rim of homemade eggnog to the Chambers pickup truck. Dakota wasn’t too keen on going because she was definitely not the type to go to parties whereas Fangs thrived in that environment. He had to beg her to join him because he wouldn’t show up without her by his side and Dakota couldn’t say “no” to him, especially when he promised they’d leave somewhat early and spend the rest of the night watching The Elf with the rest of the Chambers family.

When she agreed, Dakota quickly went into her baking mode. Again, she wasn’t one for parties for she never got the memo of not bringing anything. Fangs told her this, but the girl insisted on making something for the party. She made all the cookies and eggnog herself. Her boyfriend helped out with the second batch of eggnog since it was getting late and she was still covered in yeast, flour, and milk.

Once everything was ready, they drove off in the pickup truck and headed towards Thistlehouse.

It took them about ten minutes to get there and then another ten for trying to find a good parking spot. Once the truck was in park, they carried their items inside the Thistlehouse. The music was extremely loud, the flashing lights were almost blinding, and the air inside was sticky and hot.

They pushed their way through the crowds of sweaty teenagers until they reached the outdoor patio where the infamous redhead stood with her girlfriend. Both wore beautiful fur coats, one red and the other black, to keep them from getting cold outside.

“Fangs! Dakota!” Toni Topaz greeted cheerfully.

Cheryl eyed their greeting gifts in their hands and pointed over to the table on the other end of the patio. “Set the food and drinks over there. When you’re done, go back inside. TT and I are enjoying the cool, winter weather. Alone.”

Taking the not-so-subtle hint, Dakota and Fangs set their items down along with the other food and drinks left out. Quickly, Fangs poured the eggnog into red solo cups. He used one jug for one cup and the other jog for another cup. Dakota didn’t bother to ask, she just wanted to leave the patio and get to someplace calmer in the household.

The two returned back inside and went towards the kitchen because it was less crowded and not as humid. Fangs draped an arm over her shoulders, keeping her close to him at all times. “Cheers to us, mi novia,” he said loud enough for her to hear.

“Cheers,” she replied back happily as they tapped their cups together and slipped away on their eggnog. When the drink went down, a foul and burning sensation went down her throat. Definitely not a feeling she was used to. Dakota violently coughed and looked disgustingly at her cup. “Fangs, did you spike the eggnog?” She asked, coughing in between every other word.

Realization dawned upon him and then he immediately switched the red cups, “Shit, I gave you mine! Sorry!”

Dakota chugged down the rest of the eggnog Fangs gave her to clean out the horrible burning alcohol stuck in her throat.

i know you said that you were focusing on your marvel fics but are going to get any dak goodness anytime soon?? starlight seems like a pretty interesting concept!!

i do like dak and i do love starlight, but i have very little to zero motivation at the moment for that fic bc 99.9% will be written off canon ( since the show only majorly focuses on the core four and i don’t care about any of them ) so it’s hard for me to write all of that. also writing in dak’s mindset is a little tricky too bc she’s such a soft and delicate kind of baby and every time i try to get into that feel so i can write her properly, it all ends up like garbage and doesn’t feel very.... dak. idek if that made any sense but yeah that’s why i’m focusing on other projects ( even tho i haven’t updated any of them bc writers block is the WORST )

how does Dakota’s uncle play a role in Dakota’s life?

so here’s the thing about uncle derek. first of all,,,, he’s a serpent. second of all, she never knew he existed bc her dad never talked about his side of the family since he left when he was sixteen and wanted to get out of the serpent lifestyle. derek never takes it out on dak and her older sister, georgie, but there is a lot of tension between him and her parents so it’s fun to add some conflict that’s off the main characters of the show and add my own little thing. but derek is crazy protective over dak like he’s threatened fangs ( he calls him “pretty boy” ) soooo many times like he aint afraid to go to jail for killing fangs if he ever broke dak’s heart. but yeah, he’s a great uncle. we love him.

To say Brooke was pissed would be an understatement.

The blonde was fuming. Enraged by her fight with Sweet Pea, she angrily walked all the way back to the Chambers household, where she had been staying as of recently thanks to a certain overly protective Vivian Chambers. With her new house key, Brooke unlocked the front door, making sure to lock it behind it, and marched up stairs to her room. Correction, Georgie’s room.

Since Georgie moved out just before junior year started up, it was made into a guest bedroom which the Chambers family so kindly offered. (Well, it was more like Vivian demanded Brooke to gather her belongings from Sweet Pea’s trailer and move in with them once she discovered Brooke was technically homeless, but it’s the thought that counts.) When she entered, the girl shrugged off her clothes, slipped into her pajamas, and threw herself onto the bed, ready to sleep away the thoughts that bounced around inside her mind.

And if she were being honest, the bed was far more comfortable than Pea’s. It was definitely much bigger in size, had just the right amount of hardness in the pillows, and the mattress was memory foam.

But even with all of that, Brooke had a hard time falling asleep. Every couple of minutes, she tossed and turned, trying to block out the fight. To her dismay, no matter how hard she tried to push it away, it kept finding its way back.

After almost half an hour from the nonsense, the blonde flung the covers off and stormed out of her room, making her way straight to the bedroom down the hall. Barging in without so much as a knock, Brooke walked in to find Dakota Chambers asleep in her bed.

Alongside her boyfriend, Fangs Fogarty.

If it were any other day, she would’ve swooned at the sight of them spooning after months of separation since Fangs was a complete idiot for putting themselves in that position in the first place. But anyways, today was not that day.do so.

“Dak,” Brooke spoke, loud enough for her best friend to hear her and quiet enough so she didn’t wake the whole house. “Wake up, I need to talk to you.”

The sleeping girl’s eyes fluttered open, immediately looking concern. “Is everything okay,” Dakota asked, her voice scratchy and soft, but full of worry.

“I can’t sleep, can I stay here?” She bit her  bottom lip as the words left her mouth, hoping her new roommate wouldn’t ask so many questions. Brooke needed her best friend right now, no matter if said best friend was five seconds away from drifting back into her state of dreaming. It was better than sleeping alone in an unfamiliar room.

Before she could answer though, her boyfriend, who had yet to open his eyes or even acknowledge the blonde’s presence, replied in a tired and groggy voice, “No.” His response would’ve been overlooked if it had been any other night, but Brooke Nicole Holliday was not in the mood for Fangs to be hogging all of Dakota tonight.

Thankfully, the aforementioned girl shushed him and told him to make room for all three of them. Fangs muttered incoherently underneath his breath, most likely complaining about how his moments with his girlfriend somehow keep getting interrupted. It brought a smug smile to Brooke’s face to see him so annoyed, crawling into bed feeling a little bit better than a few seconds ago.

And the three of them slept on the same bed all night. Fangs still cuddling against his girlfriend while Brooke draped an arm around Dakota’s stomach. It wasn’t the most comfortable or ideal kind of night for any of them, but somehow they made it work.
