So, Fernando had a shit day today - he hit a boulder towards the middle of the stage and damaged suspension/tyre.

Him and his co tried to fix it but lost 2 hours in the process.

He finished the stage 61th

Also, duct tape is a universal fixer 😂

In other news, Carlos 'El Matador' Sainz has won Stage 5 of the Dakar.

Even with a slow puncture at the beginning.

The clip gives you an idea of how fast Sainz is going on the uneven terrair: we have fine sand, rocks and a boulder in the way, but the man does not slow down once.
