Whatever this thing is, it seems to change shape depending on its emotions. When angered, it grows larger and more aggressive, but when intimidated or sad, it shrinks. Which is weird because paint certainly doesn't possess feelings...

So, Dalex has those bluish scales on his back and arms. Did they grow bigger over the years or were they always like that?

They started out fairly small! Barely covered his little baby face.

No one realized what was going on at first; everyone just assumed he was developing a bad habit of scratching/rubbing his face and arms. When the areas he was scratching began turning into blue patches, it came as quite a shock for his parents, since they sure as shell weren’t born with scales, and neither was he. It didn’t really help that his eyes and hair had already changed beforehand, which set off some alarms of their own…

A hop, skip, and trip to the doctor later, the scales were deemed benign, though his parents were asked to keep a closer eye on him for a few weeks afterward. Dalex has accepted his scales by present time (and thinks they’re kinda cool), but sometimes wonders if it’s actually just a super weird rash…
