I wanted to try the Dalgona trend but I loathe coffee. So, I tried the matcha variant - also I didn’t have ice cubes so I omitted them.

Fun fact: adding effervescent powder to your matcha-sugar-water mix apparently will let you actually whip it.

I originally added the raspberry effervescent powder to my drink for the vitamin C boost, but in combination with the sugar from the lemonade mix, it was thick enough to get foamy (for once).

Would've poured over milk to finally have myself a Dalgona matcha drink, but citric acid and dairy do not mix. Learned the hard way. So I just went with my original plan of adding extra water and drinking it like that.

MATCHA DALGONA EGGNOG

It's non-alcoholic.

I made eggnog for the base. Make sure to whisk the eggs, cream and milk in a bowl on the steam of boiling water. You do not want the egg to curdle if you place the bowl directly on heat.

DO NOT wait til the eggnog mixture boils. Add a pinch of cinnamon powder. Here I grated a quarter of cinnamon bc I don't have the powder. Pounded a few cloves. You can more if you want. Quantity always depends on the taste and texture you prefer.

Then whisk matcha powder and sugar til consistency is foamy.

Pour eggnog in a glass, top with the matcha foam.

Finally sprinkle some grated coconut and rice crispies. I'm telling you, the eggnog will be amazing.

You can sift the eggnog when pouring into the glass. I didn't bc I want to grit on the spices.
