There was a reason Dallas was being so dodgy answering their questions about if he was seeing anybody or not. That reason was he knew he wasn't going to be able to lie to them and all his feelings would come rushing to the surface. It felt like they were finally at a place where they could be friends and Dallas felt like he was on the verse of ruining it.

As they ask again he turns to face them, "I haven't moved on. If that's what you want to know."

Dallas showed up at Parker's place, face still freshly marbled from a fight he got into on the ice. While he was known to be rough among the league, he was more unpredictable than usual lately, finding it difficult to keep his personal life personal. He was tired of being unhappy despite looking like he was on top of the world.

"I can't stand another night with her when all want you you."

concept: dallas is a recently fired major league baseball player back in his hometown as a substitute gym teacher 

connection: fellow teacher + former high school sweetheart, former friend, former rival / somebody who he didn’t get along with, or maybe they didn’t know each other back then.  lmk in tags!

“Is it me or have kids gotten like... way more mean,” Dallas asks with a laugh leaning over the table, a tray of mediocre cafeteria food in front of him.  The bustling of the lunch period echoing around the room.  Kids were brutal when he was in school, but it seemed like there was an art to name calling these days.  “I broke up a fight in first period and got called a ‘Sasquatch looking mother fucker.’  I mean I’ve heard worse but not before nine in the morning.”

Dallas catches the snack that was practically pelted at his head.  There was something about hanging out with Crash that spoke to his inner child and for a little bit life was able to slow down and be all about snacks and video games.  The pressure of being a division one athlete wasn’t weighing on his shoulders, “In that case I’m going to get some chocolate milk from the fridge like a man!”

“Wait, one more kiss before you go.” { daisy x dallas }

Dallas knew he needed to hurry off to the locker room to meet up with the rest of the team, but as always it was hard to pull away from Daisy.  It had become a habit of sorts for the pair to meet behind the away team’s bleachers for a little alone time before their respective teams would face off.  It was just a little way to ensure they could see each other in case they were torn in opposite directions after the game.  Dallas tips his pointer finger beneath her chin and leans down to connect their lips in a brief kiss.  It’s then he hears the familiar voices of a couple of his teammates approach.  

“Guess that’s my cue to get going,” he smirks though he doesn’t want to leave.  “Can’t get caught making out with the enemy out here.”

“I am now,” Dallas responds with his voice heavy with sleep as he rolls over in his sleeping bag to face the other.  There was no light peering through the tent so he could tell that it wasn’t quite daybreak.  There were still a few hours of sleep to be had.... ideally anyway.  “What are you doing up?  I was totally kidding about those mountain lions earlier.  If you heard something it was probably just the wind.”

pairing: dallas & parker 

It started with a few too many drinks on his flight home, but there was no turning back when he gave his driver the address of Parker’s apartment building rather than his home with Lucy.  She was out of town anyway-- but even if it weren’t the case Dallas was certain he wold have ended up at Parker’s door.  Dallas slips bt somebody leaving the building and before he knows it he’s pounding on her front door.  

“Hey, it’s me,” Dallas says between knocks hoping it would get her to the door faster.  It’s not until he sees her face that he’s second guessing his decision.  It’s the first time he’s seen her since the wedding about four months ago.  While the distance between them was a necessary evil it was driving Dallas nuts.  He missed her.  The honeymoon phase of his marriage was deceivingly short despite how Lucy’s pristine social media presence made it seem.  

“I’ve missed you,” Dallas says finally.  “Do you think it’d be okay if I came in?”
