Feels like we're having a good time!
A little birthday present for @dalpalwho <3 A tiny Cullrian Band AU
---
Sera was excited.
She was practically vibrating next to Cullen and he wasn’t quite sure he necessarily felt the same. She, Josie and Leliana had dragged him out to a bar today, even though he had told them - repeatedly - that he had work. Important work!
“But the band, grumpy!” Sera had yelled, practically dragging him out the door, while Leliana had grabbed his jacket and Josie his wallet. “The band is incredible! You will love it, and if you don’t I will hate you forever, so at least act like you do.”
So here he was, leaning against a dark wall in a dingy bar, with a beer in his hand that he probably won’t even drink. Josephine and Leliana had vanished somewhere, and he was left keeping Sera from starting a riot - or maybe a mosh pit by the sound of the current band playing.
He wasn’t a fan of this one, that was for sure.
Just as his friends returned, Sera let out a loud screech. “There there there!” She yelled. “That’s them!” She jumped Cullen then, arms around his neck from the side. “Look at her! Isn’t she just the most beautiful thing you have ever seen?”
Her, was a Qunari woman that took a spot on the left, a violin of all things in her hands. Another Quinari took his place behind the drums, while a human walked in with two electric guitars. “Her name is Herah.” Sera gushed. “Herah and Sera. We’re perfect for each other!”
“She has the wedding planned already.” Leliana chuckled into her drink, a little tipsy. “You’re probably Maid of honour, Cullen.”
“I’m sure, I am.” He mumbled as Sera squeezed him tightly, eyes never leaving the Violinist. Just as he followed her gaze a fourth person entered the stage, a microphone clasped in his hand. All of a sudden, just like that, Cullen understood her urge to screech. Not that he would, of course.
The man that appeared was shirtless, toned dark chest glistening with a thin layer of sweat. He accepted the second guitar after he placed the microphone in the centre of the stage, grinning at the other man. He had dark hair that was tousled into perfection and his moustache was curled upwards. A runic tattoo was curling over his shoulders and almost seemed to glow in the lights of the bar.
He was breathtaking.
Cullen couldn’t even react when his three companions started teasing him for swooning. The man was a vision. Sera, arms locked with his, was almost jumping up and down, while Leliana and Josie started to move to the music that was slowly building up.
The set was over way too quickly. The music wasn’t half bad, but by then Cullen was sure that Sera wasn’t exactly interested in the music itself. Neither was he, he could admit that much to himself at least.
He thought that was that, a few hours of eye candy for him and Sera. But as he was moving to leave the bar, the elf caught his hand and dragged him in the opposite direction. Before he could really see what was happening, he was pulled through a door. “Herah!” Releasing him, Sera ran toward the female Qunari and jumped right into her arms. To her credit, the woman immediately closed those arms around her, holding her up. “You rocked this whole fucking building.” Sera squealed, collapsing into a fit of giggles, as Herah spun her around.
The other Qunari laughed heartily, thumping the first guitarist on the shoulder. “Young love Krem, when are you going to catch a little bird like that?”
“Shit, Bull. She’s no little bird. She’s a harpy.” The human - Krem - laughed, while Sera only flipped him off.
Cullen stood in the doorway, feeling completely out of place. He looked behind himself, but neither Josephine nor Leliana had followed them. “And who might that be?” He turned toward the voice, someone finally noticing him. It was the drummer, Bull. He looked at Cullen with a dirty smirk, Krem turning to look at him as well.
“Well well well.” A rough voice sounded from the back of the room, the lead singer coming out from around a clothing rack. With slight disappointment, Cullen noticed that he was wearing a shirt. Not that the loose top was covering much. “So you are the famous Cullen, I keep hearing about.”
And Cullen’s mind just about stopped. “You-” He sneaked a glance at Sera, who was quietly observing. This sneaky- “You heard about me?”
“Oh yes. All bad, I’m afraid.” The man practically purred, as he moved closer to where Cullen was still standing between room and hallway. “Sorry, for the voice, it’s not usually this sexy.” Bull let out a deep chuckle behind Dorian, but quickly shut up when the singer threw him a look. When he turned back toward Cullen, his grin was downright filthy. “Dorian. It’s a pleasure.”
“C-Cullen.” He grabbed the hand that was offered and gulped when Dorian didn’t let go after a shake but placed his other hand over Cullen’s. His nails were painted, he noticed. Galaxy nails. Pretty. He cleared his throat. “But you already knew that.”
Dorian chuckled, pointing to Sera. “Oh yes, this one has been talking you up for weeks.” With a deliberately slow head tilt, he gave Cullen a once over. “Can’t say she was exaggerating.”
“Uhm… I’m glad?” Cullen’s eyes shifted to Sera once more, wide and a little panicked. She only grinned at him, her arm around Herah’s waist. “I’m-” He turned back towards the singer. “I’m sorry, I’m a little out of my depth here.”
“I can tell.” Dorian’s voice sounded amused, but not necessarily mean. “It’s okay, I can be a little overwhelming.”
“Oh no, you’re lovely.” What the fuck was he saying? “I mean, not overwhelming in the least. It’s very nice to meet you.”
“Lovely, huh?” Smiling back towards his band members, Dorian finally moved a little back, giving Cullen time to breath. “He thinks I’m lovely, do you hear?” “Yes, I do,” Krem snickered. “He clearly doesn’t know you at all.”
Dorian clicked his tongue. “Nonsense.” He let one hand fall, but still held Cullen’s with the other. Gently, he started to pull him into the room. “Come, sit down with me, dearest. Let’s change the fact that you apparently don’t know me.”
And how was Cullen supposed to say no?
