ExMaquinamon is amazingly unique as far as jogress evolutions go

Digimon's no stranger to having a jogress between polar opposites, but ExMaquinamon just stands out so well

The components are two different types of false angels. A perfect machine and a perfect beast. I love the parallels between their eyes, wings, and halos. The high-tech halo compared to the bone halo. The silver and gold color schemes both highlights their contrast and how they're each trying to emulate holy digimon despite not being officially classified as them

ExMaquinamon meshes both of its components incredibly well. It resembles a different type of angel, but the two divided halves make it obvious as a fake. It really sells that ExMaquinamon is a false god trying to impose its will on a world that doesn't belong to it. It even has 10 wings to mimic the highest ranking angels

It's also worth pointing out that Maquinamon is a cat digimon like Gatomon. That design choice could've been subtle foreshadowing that Maquinamon's evolution would emulate hers all along. An artificial cat becoming false angels in contrast to a real cat becoming true angels

A game with ExMaquinamon as the final boss would be so much fun!

We finally get the final forms for Maquinamon. As expected, Dalphomon is the organic Ultimate/Mega form and it looks really neat. I'm just gonna say it, this is a way cooler take on an angelic beast than Cherubimon. It's also cool that both final forms are named after and act like angels, but explicitly aren't. I also like both of them being named after angels from Jewish angelology that break the usual name ends with el model.

Also as expected, both the organic and mechanical final forms fuse into a new cyborg form. Ex Maquinamon is a great name and the design itself is certainly one of the most unique Digimon has to offer. It kind of fits with Sephirothmon as Digimon that don't even look like creatures. Definitely going for a biblically accurate angel design. I think I would have preferred it to be more than just a winged head, but the body rising out of what is clearly the brain is really gross and really cool.

Profile

Let those who have fallen from heaven fear the beast. With gold fur covering its giant body and a pair of beautiful wings contrary to it's otherwise horrifying appearance, Dalphomon is a Mega Digimon that behaves like an Angel Digimon despite being a Beast Digimon.

　Spends most of its time within cumulonimbus clouds drifting across the sky, rarely concerning itself with other Digimon.

　It reveres the beautiful physical forms of beasts and believes it can reach a higher state of being by absorbing the uncontaminated data of Angel and Holy Beast Digimon. For this reason, it hates Machine and Cyborg Digimon above all else as they do not hesitate to modify their bodies.

　With its special move, "Prophet of Elijah", it fires destructive rays that tracks its enemy using green gems in its head and forelegs. Using "Jailmaon" allows it to grab Digimon with a claw on the tip of it's tail and seal them eternally inside its body without sending them to the Dark Area. "Brutal Halo" amplifies the extreme heat of its breath attack made through its Bone Halo, searing away all configuration data except for the DigiCore.

Something neat I noticed. Unchained's halo takes elements from both halves of Dalphomon and Metatromon. A bony outer-ring from Dalpho and a gear inner-ring from Meta.

Wonder what ExMaquinamon will look like, I'm excited!
