the mood of the wedding wasn’t easy to ignore – not that many did. it was fairly obvious that this marriage between princess miyoung and grand general im was as sudden to them as it was to their guests. no one knew the true story of how this marriage came to be aside from those involved; and even if there were people who did, their lips were shut tight in order to protect the sanctity of it. of course, this only left inappropriate rumors and speculations among the guests whom had no choice but to create their own sense of it to understand the sullenness of the wedding.
but then, there were people like she and taejun who can only sympathize from afar. although they too were matched into their own respective marriages, at least theirs’ turned out for the better – both couples content and happy in the end. so when her dear friend’s words had reached the noblewoman’s ears, seungwan could only nod in reluctant agreement.
“yes, unfortunately.” she managed to muster out after a moment or two. “i don’t think anyone was really prepared for this arrangement, including the bride and groom as much as i didn’t want to admit it.”
if there was one thing that he could comprehend, the atmosphere had been just...erroneous. crestfallen like expression manifested on their faces. surely the virtue of performers had done their fair share in keeping the mood intact, though, taejun on the other hand had been unable to brush away of the feeling. being the few ones whom had the luxury to apprise the king, he was one to drift away if there were such rumors if they wandered around. however, in his case, none mattered. a wedding was called amidst of it, whatever occurred or has yet to transpire—none of them had been his business, with a slight exception if their importance in assisting the king himself with such decisions.
although on the grounds of both of their own separate marriages, which bore resemblance to one another. with seungwan had been wedded off to huisoo, a good friend of his and with hayeon being his wife—fate somehow had favored both of the respective pair. it was then that the government official felt like blurting out the question.
as it seemed ‘appropriate’ at the moment and pure curiosity got the best of him. the answer rang through, which made him contemplated before offering his own set of opinions. “it all seems too sudden,” shifting a swift glance towards the guests prior returning, “and too distinct for that matter,”
