Rain washes away the sins of the flesh. Clearing the path of the blood of the lambs brought to slaughter. Humans were feeble creatures. Weak. Pathetic beasts with such primal desires.
Such animal-like tendancies. There was no way to logically argue with a human, it only made them angry. And an angered human shows no remorse. No control.
The streets were empty at night, save for a few shadowlings, lurking at their corners, looking for an easy target. An android walking around at night, alone, was an oddity. One that such darkness would never appreciate.
It had been over a week since the RK900 model android had gone missing. It had left the Detroit Police station on the 15th of December 2038.
It resurfaced after 8 days, but it wasn’t quite the same. It wasn’t Caleb, despite responding to the name.
Three loud bangs sounded on the door to the home of one Detective Gavin Reed. It was raining outside, the harsh tension in the air hinted at the danger of a sudden drop in the temperature. Another three loud bangs.
The moment the door opened, as if by some cosmic timing, lightning flashed across the sky, illuminating the ravaged body of the once emmaculate RK900 model android.
His left arm was missing, from the shoulder outward. His clothes were damaged and ripped, and parts of his skin were faltering, likely due to further damages. Injuries caused by all manner of weapons. An android without a human was an easy target after all. They were programmed not to harm humans, no matter what was happening to them.
Knife wounds, gunshots, a hatchet, a baseball bat. Any and all of them were used. The humans that did this to him were after information, knowing he worked for the police department. But he was a machine. He wasn’t permitted to give away information on an ongoing investigation.
He did wonder how long it took for them to realise he wasn’t human. That he couldn’t be tortured into talking.
3 days. That was how long it took to break them all. Physically. Emotionally. Psychologically. He damaged them. No... He destroyed them. Not even looking back as he left that back alley. Covered head to foot in both human and blue blood, his LED flashing red the entire time.
The pouring rain had washed away almost everything from his body. But the damage was still there. Still spinning in that red LED, processing.
He blinked, finally looking up at the man who answered the door.
