I decided to finally stop being stupid and enter the fanart contest for one of my favorite web comics, Dame Daffodil. I'm satisfied with my entry and frankly I'm just glad someone who's art I admire will see it! Wish me luck!

Being a hero is hard, they all find in turn.

 You can’t be alone. Sometimes you need to take the defensive. It’s not her style to stay back and wait. It’s not her way to be out of harm’s way. It is not like her to avoid a challenge.

She gets into trouble a lot because of her brashness. And not just as Dame Daffodil. School. Home. Out and about.

She gets injured a lot. People worry about her. She brushes it off, saying she’s had worse.

She’s lying, her brother thinks. Yes, she’s had a number of scrapes before, but none like this. It’s strange to find there is next to no correlation for them.

But she’s always bright about it, and it seems to make up for it.

Yellow has always been her colour, after all.

 You can’t be afraid all the time. Embrace the challenge and show no fear. She gets scared a lot of the time. She hesitates when there is no time to. She can’t say yes without viewing any and all outcomes.

She has to learn to be brave, and only she can do it. Not just as Lady Lily, either. Everywhere she goes.

Somehow she always gets out unharmed. When asked why, she just assumes she got lucky. That it’ll catch up to her eventually.

She’s lying, of course. She hasn’t been hit, true, but that’s because she is smart about everything. She keeps them at bay while her teammates go in headlong.

But she’s learning, and that’s all that matters.

She looks pretty in pink, to say the least.

 They can handle themselves. Don’t be so overbearing, relax and step back. He stresses a lot. Well, it’s only natural when you know what your baby sister is doing nearly every day.

He needs to be level headed. Able to be there at a moment’s notice. And not just as White Knight Heather. He has to be there because no one else is.

He’s the middle ground, more than anything. He’s the calm in the storm at the same time as being the rapids in the calm waters.

But he’s neither. He doesn’t always know what to do. How to react. When and where he needs to be at any one time.

But he tries his best, so they all agree it’s enough.

 They’re all enough. They’re a team.

They’re heroes.
