i was having fun until they forced me to do several raids that required me to find 24 other people and also it just so happens that nobody likes to queue for those particular raids. i eventually got past them but then after the big climactic finale of the base game (the cutscene that made me think "oh shit, im getting to the part of the story that everyone likes!" in particular got my hopes up) and then i went from defeating gods and taking down regimes to running errands for rich kids in the snow.
after i was stuck on the same story area for like 3 days slowly losing interest i didnt really "quit" as much as i started caring less about my dailies because i had already plateaud in terms of how much money i could reasonably make by myself and so i couldnt get any new items and i wasn't leveling up since i hit a massive XP slope, and slowly but surely the positive feedback loop dried up, and i stopped logging in or and then stopped caring that i didnt want to log in.
