For the TLH thing: Matthew and Charles' relationship 👀
THIS IS COMPLICATED okay so
i think there is SO much potential here. charles as a character has so much potential and it’s physically painful to see him act the way he does. charles cares about his loved ones but at the end of the day there’s a limit to his loyalty and we know he values his career and reputation more than anything else, so he’s not a good brother bc he’s willing to sacrifice people close to him. but
1. obviously charles didn’t spend his entire life worrying about his political position 2. he grew up in an incredibly loving environment 3. his little brother used to call him charlie: so he was probably a really sweet loving kid that the world hardened and warped AND ITS HURTS TO THINK ABOUT like could you imagine if his life was a little different? he would’ve never even thought to look at alastair like that but if they still met he would’ve helped alastair, maybe even become a mentor figure, he would’ve been a good old protective brother + helping matthew w the sexuality crisi, defending his father, working alongside his mother, being a good cousin and friend.
basically i think the fairchild sibling relationship is toxic and unhealthy simply bc of how charles treats everyone but in another life they could’ve been so good :(
