JUSTIFIED: City Primeval - Episode eight: The Question
just saw your dan grant/tim tag. i am foaming at the mouth. please… elaborate… if you want… i am listening
thank yooooou for letting me yap about this. okay okay okay hear me out!! 🗣️🗣️🗣️
LOOK this is rarepair hell height of indulgence but i just think it would be very fun and also very hot if Tim got into an inappropriate relationship with his silver fox boss.
Dan has already proven an affinity for taking a shine to "problem child" subordinates (see his whole deal with Raylan) so why can't a post powder keg blown Tim also transfer to Miami and be Dan's new favorite boy he works on trying to improve or failing that protect at least 🖤
Tim has so many daddy issues and I think extremely older man male authority figure Dan would help with that you know what I'm saying??
Bonus side of givenson: I think it would cause new daddy Raylan still smarting over his fallout with Art to take extreme psychic damage to see himself replaced as Dan's golden child AND learn Dan's fucking Tim ... when Raylan may or may not have at one point also fucked Tim and called "boy" in bed back in Kentucky. Imagine Raylan having to balance learning how to be a literal dad while at the same time he has to watch Dan and Tim strike up an after office hours arrangement.
I'm just saying I'm just saying....
I really need to write some Dan/Tim someday. There's a lot to explore there it's free real estate.
Dan is very underrated and underrepresented in the fandom
And don’t tell me that you can’t remember who he is because that’s the point.
Dan Grant is Raylan’s chief in Miami, and their interactions, although very rare, are golden. I love Art, like I love almost every single Justified character and more, and his interactions with Raylan are definitely very fun to watch, and Art is a great character without whom the show wouldn’t be the same, but Dan just seems so much more humane and loveable, and his jokes aren’t biting in the way Art’s jokes are (which can be seen both as a good and bad quality, depending on your standpoint), and Dan actually seems to be a much more emotionally comfortable presence in Raylan’s life. And his humor and patience are very similar to Tim’s. Wanna proof? Well, what brought me to writing this post in the first place is a scene from 2.11, when Raylan is making a call he isn’t supposed to make.
Dan: Was it Gio?
Raylan: I was hoping you could tell me.
Dan: Well, the way I hear it, Gio's only hiring Cubans these days.
Raylan: Even if he wants to cover his tracks?
Dan: Yeah, apparently Bo Crowder took away his taste for gringos. Doesn't trust them any more. Raylan: That ain't very progressive, now, is it?
Dan: Yeah.
Raylan: Be nice to know for sure.
Dan: Well, I could always go ask him, although if he cops to it, I guess I have to shoot him. Don't want him to think I'm not a man of my word.
Raylan: No. Dan: My opinion? Sounds closer to home. What do your C.I.S say?
Raylan: Art told me to steer clear of the investigation.
Dan: Let me get this straight. When Art gives you orders, you actually follow them? Or are you just saying that to hurt my feelings?
Dan: Seriously, Ray, have you pissed off any shit-kickers lately?
I mean, Dan even uses “Ray,” which tends not to go well with Raylan, but here it obviously is a friendly expression of concern. And given the fact that Raylan is very dissatisfied with how his life after his return to Kentucky turned out (not just Art excluding him from the investigation, or Tim watching him for his own safety etc.), it’s more than appropriate.
I wish there was more of Dan, but then again, it would mean more problems to solve for him, so, maybe he wouldn’t wish it for himself, haha.

The AGENT: Dan Grant
The game-changing Canadian agent talks to The Business Model as he exits Next Canada
By Natalia Zurowski and Jasmine Chorley Foster
Dan Grant, Next Canada agent since 2009, announced via Facebook on January 20th that he will no longer be at Next as of February 1st. "A guy can learn a lot in five years," wrote Grant. "Especially in a fast-paced environment like a modelling agency. From social media to snapshots, nothing is like it was in 2009. This last half decade has been anything but boring. In fact, it's been entirely fascinating. Now, however, it's time to take my fascination elsewhere."
His next move within or outside of the modelling industry remains unknown, but he will continue his scouting duties for Bravo Tokyo and continue running popular photography-incubator and blog Juried.
During his final week at Next, Dan took the time to talk to The Business Model about what he's learned over the years.

It’s pretty fitting, the way season two starts with a mirror image of the pilot, Raylan squared off with Gio. Raylan shoots Tommy Bucks; Raylan’s exiled to Kentucky. Raylan makes peace with Gio; Raylan’s ready to go home.
And it’s pretty great, the way Gio’s phone rings, and Raylan’s eyes roll, and Raylan tells Gio let it ring, and Dan Grant says, Raylan, I’m walking in. Whatever you’re thinking about doing, don’t.
Because, well. It’s thanks to Dan that Raylan makes peace with Gio. Prior to Dan, Raylan’s ready to repeat a little history: “All right, look. I tried to be reasonable. You give me your word in ten seconds or I shoot you in the head.”
The way Raylan says, “I thought that went well,” and Dan chuckles, I would watch a whole lot more of Dan on the show. I mean, no flashbacks. None of Raylan’s Miami life pre-Kentucky. (Hey, that’s why we have Pronto.) But I would happily watch Raylan and Dan teamed up on a case.
He’s at least half as awesome as Art, and that’s pretty awesome.
