Since I’m almost done doing my research rewatch for the Givens’ House set, I thought I’d post my preliminary findings:

Facts about the house

• The house windows are crank open

• No screens on any of the visible windows

• 2 story house with basement

• Basement has external exit at back of house

• Driveway goes up to basement external exit (I think so because it goes around the back of the house towards it)

• Basement room at back of house roughly under side porch has full size windows.

• House has both the porch out front and the deck to the side of the house.

Arlo has a window AC unit for his room and a second larger one for some other upstairs space.

There is a woodstove in the great room to the right of the main door into it in the corner.

Arlo keeps a gunrack Right Next To the woodstove.

Two exterior doors on the front porch. One to the entryway and one to the mudroom off the kitchen.

The house is the last house at the end of the lane.

• Home is approximately 2500 square feet (According to realty sign. This may not include the footage for the basement)

• There are 5 (possibly 6)doors leading to the outside on this house.

◦ Main entrance, mudroom entrance, deck entrance, prime balcony entrance, basement entrance. Possibly: Romeo and Juliet Balcony door on floor above the deck)

• The utilities on side of house have “102” labeled on them. This *might be* a unit number for the house.

There are two doors on either side of the counter that lead to/from the formal dining room and kitchen and they might have little swingy doors like a saloon

The mudroom and kitchen are separated by a partial wall.

The kitchen counter on the side it shares with the dining room has a pass through or half-wall meaning the kitchen and dining spaces are not closed off from each other

List of confirmed rooms:

◦ Dining Room

▪️ Point of order: in two episodes, there is a wall that separates the dining room and the “great room” from each other. In every other scene that takes place in this house *including the season this wall purportedly exists within* there is instead a doorway separating them.

◦ Mud Room

◦ Entry Way/vestibule

◦ “Great Room”

▪️ (which appears to contain a sitting space and a secondary dining space sometimes and sometimes two sitting spaces.)

◦ Room at front of house

▪️ This appears to be used as a storage room *however* the light switch, location, and general conventions of american housing indicates this might be a bathroom for the main floor that Arlo busted and never fixed and so started using it as a storage space.

◦ Arlo’s bedroom

◦ Corner room behind Arlo’s with two walls of windows

▪️ This room appears to be conjoined with Arlo’s as there are wooden french doors on the wall they both share that appear to lead into the second room

◦ Upstairs bathroom

◦ Basement room with sink and tools/work bench

▪️ This is where Ava is locked up when Arlo escapes her care)

◦ The basement has a total of three doors shown but only one is opened. What is beyond the other doors is unknown, however the doorknobs on them are not uniform.

◦ Arlo’s shed located somewhere around the property? Not attached to the main housing

List of suspected rooms based on layout:

• At least one more room on the second floor but there could either be two more rooms for a total of four or one more room and a second upstairs bathroom based on the layout and external indicators such as windows, Romeo and Juliet balcony, and the fact that Raylan had to fucking sleep some goddamn where as a kid

• At least two additional spaces in the basement outside the one that is shown. It’s not unlikely that the basement has a fully finished space within it that may have been outfitted to be lived in. Especially considering one of the doorknobs seen inside the basement hall appears to be similar to one that a person might put on an exterior exit this could have been a sort of basement apartment of sorts or something like a mother in law suite.

It’s possible the basement’s footprint is wider than the house based on the staircase placement and positions of the doors below.

Random Facts about Characters

• Raylan’s phone number is 859-124-1613. Found on For Sale By Owner Sign

• Frances McKinley address is 27 Pine St Harlan, KY 40831 (From letters Arlo received during his military service)

• Frances was born in 1949 and died in 2000(DOD not confirmed with dialogue, only via gravestone in yard)

• Arlo was born in 1945 (Per gravestone)

• There are multiple gravestones in that yard and not just the three mentioned via dialogue. Also Helen is put to rest on the opposite side of the house as Frances’ gravestone.

• First time Raylan was in a cell was with Mike Graves for smashing mail boxes out of a ‘64 Impala.

• Raylan has read Hardy Boys and Stephen King
