FOUR YEAR STRONG // “FOUR YEAR STRONG”
Four Year Strong has accumulated countless fans and have toured extensively since the band’s formation in 2001, although they did not release a debut LP until 2007. The four-man group has performed on national tours and music festivals with many notable bands like Bring Me the Horizon, From First To Last, Thursday, Pierce the Veil, The Wonder Years and more. They’re currently on tour with The Story So Far.
The band’s new self-titled LP is sonically symmetrical with their last release. They’ve previously delivered three (original, not including “Explains it All” which is composed of covers) similar sounding albums since their inception. Their intricate musical styling is usually described as a cross between pop punk and hard core. The band started out relying heavily on the synth factor, but later on focused more on the hardcore aspect of their music. The response was undoubtedly received well. The new self-titled LP resonates with this quality throughout the album. Front man and guitarist Dan O’Connor described this gem as “one of the most raw records [they've] ever made, it’s just [them] playing. No fancy computer shit. Made for singing along and head banging.” New and old fans will certainly appreciate this more aggressive, “back to the basics” approach the group has incorporated into their music.
