Last Saturday, Felix and I trekked over to Dan and John’s in our never ending search for the ultimate chicken fingers and wings in NYC. As posted on their website, @danandjohns was started by two friends originally from Buffalo who make wings in NYC. They use recipes they learned growing up in Buffalo (Just like I do) and they started making wings in Dan’s Brooklyn apartment to satisfy their needs during Bills games (mostly losses). A guy named Pat has since joined the team. Even through the lean Bills years they have persevered like the rest of us Die-Hard gluttons for punishment, masochistic @buffalobills fans. Felix really enjoyed their chicken fingers which are more like Korean Fried Chicken than a traditional finger (not a bad thing!). Felix also liked the restaurant because @austinpowersya was playing in the background. He recently was exposed to Mike Meyers in @bohemianrhapsodymovie and again in Wayne’s World 1 &2 (both in the same day) and he is now a fan! Back to the food, the wing sauces are great and the wings are big and juicy. I like my wings a little more well done but they were really good and both the Hot and Sweet BBQ tasted great. The kids devoured them when I brought leftovers home. Dan and John’s rated high on Felix’s list (The kids the real deal, he was wearing his Bills shirt that day).
