𝕕𝕒𝕟 𝕙𝕠𝕨𝕖𝕝𝕝 𝕗𝕝𝕦𝕗𝕗 [𝕕𝕚𝕒𝕞𝕠𝕟𝕕 𝕚𝕟 𝕥𝕙𝕖 𝕣𝕠𝕦𝕘𝕙]

I squeezed Dan's hand tighter as I pulled him down the dimly lit, woody trail. I was dragging Dan alongside me as walked speedily through the forest, looking for the familiar barn.

I used my remaining hand and pulled apart vines and leaves from trees and shrubs. My eyes widened and I smiled widely as I glanced at Dan before continuing to walk. He was obviously in awe-his mouth was opened wide and he was at a loss for words.

On the outside,  my escape may look ruddy and rusty; it doesn't compare to the inside. On the inside, I had strings of long white fairy lights dangling from the crisp, white walls. Underneath each glowing light was a Polaroid of Dan and I. They lined the walls from start to end... I never imagined I had so many until I began to renovate this place.

On the loft was a large bunk bed from which I had removed the bottom bunk. Underneath the top bunk, I had a small dresser and bookshelf which, like my walls,  was lined from start to end with books I love. I really thought that this old barn's inside reflected my personality. It's a diamond on the rough, I suppose- I just need a little work and time to be appreciated. I know Dan is the same, maybe that's why he's so starstruck.

He grabbed my hands again and pulled me into his chest before wrapping his arms sweetly around my waist.

"Did you do this by yourself?" He looked down at me, a soft smile on his face as I nodded. "I hope you know that I love you so much it can't be put into words. God, you've stayed with me way longer than I ever anticipated. You've stayed with me even when I hit rock bottom. You're constantly with me, providing me with love and care, and you still have time to come here and do all this?" Dan looked at the ground in appreciation as I spun myself around. I placed my hands on Dan's cheeks as I slowly pulled him down into a passionate yet sweet kiss.

 I reached up and put my arms around Dan's neck as he wrapped his around my waist yet again. As we pulled apart for precious air he grabbed my hand and laced his fingers with mine, pulling me over to a large sofa on the corner diagonal of the bed. He ran over and jumped on, shaking the entire barn. He waved me over and told me to sit next to him. Words cannot explain how much I love this boy. I walked over, a smile on my face, and sat next to him before throwing my legs over his lap. Dan laid down next to me and pulled me tightly into his chest. I nuzzled my head in the crook of his neck, enjoying the soft pitter-patter of his heartbeat. 

"I still can't believe you did all this," Dan said into the top of my head.

"Just know that I would never have done this without you," I whispered. I waited eagerly for a response but to no avail. I glanced up and saw Dan's soft brown eyes knitted shut, sealed with slumber. "I love you, Dan. Sleep well."

𝕕𝕒𝕟 𝕙𝕠𝕨𝕖𝕝𝕝 𝕗𝕝𝕦𝕗𝕗 [𝕜𝕚𝕥𝕥𝕖𝕟]

You laid quietly on the couch, your head resting on Dan's lap. He had been rubbing your back soothingly as you watched him and Phil have an incredibly intense Mario Kart match. So far, you noticed, Phil was winning by a landslide. Dan was only losing, though, because he was playing with one hand-the other was obviously helping to soothe you.

Dan's soft hands rubbing your back made you very calm and relaxed, and you then felt yourself drifting off into an inevitable but desirable slumber. You quickly repositioned yourself on Dan's lap as you finally were taken by sleep. You snored quietly, but Dan never seemed to mind. Phil sometimes got a bit aggrivated with you, but that was completely okay in your book. And if Dan could like Phil, you could like Phil.

In fact, Dan never seemed to mind anything you did wrong. Once you accidentally knocked his favourite cereal bowl off the counter while you were eating your breakfast. Dan just laughed and told you it was fine. Or the time you ripped his eclipse shirt while leaving his room. He told you not to worry about it because he knew someone who could fix it very quickly.

After a long nap, you were awoken to a pair of strong arms carrying you to Dan's room. He placed you on his bed, and you opened your eyes to see your head lied neatly upon his anime body pillow. You loved Dan's body pillow-it smelled like him, cinnamon, apples, and cheap aftershave. Your eyes began to close once again as you thought about Dan and how much you love him.

You felt Dan drape his long arms on top of you and pull you into his chest. You fell asleep to the soft, low beat of his heart. Sometimes when his heartbeat was too fast, it would remind you of the rain-which you hated.

As if on que of your thoughts, you were awoken for a final time to the sound of echoing thunder as you saw the window flash white for a brief moment. You had processed immediately that this was a thunderstorm but, of course, everyone here knows that that's just the England weather. You still hated storms, though, weather or not. Nothing will change how much you hate thunder storms.

You whimper as you snuggle yourself even farther into Dan's chest. Dan sighed in his sleep and pulled you closer. He always looked so peaceful when he was asleep. But the moment of the adorable bliss that was Dan's face was interrupted by the loudest boom of thunder you had ever heard, making Dan's eyes shoot open. He pulled the covers up and over his legs to walk over to the window behind his desk, pushing up one small blind and peeking outside. You moved your head over to look out the small window and saw that London was practically flooding.

You also hated getting wet. Drinking water, of course, was fine. But just the thought of getting caught in the rain gave you a dissappointed face. And seeing how much water was outside at the moment made you quickly hide your face by shooting under Dan's duvet. After a few minutes, you peeked your head back out to see Dan sitting in his chair, his elbow propped upon his desk and his chin resting beautifully in the palm of his hand. In his other hand, he held his phone. He was obviously taking a picture of the storm outside. It was strange, almost as if he found it amusing.

While you were watching Dan and the rain, another bright flash of light lit up the room only seconds before another deafening boom echoed throughout the flat. You thought that lightning was just like pretty, natural fireworks in the sky. But thunder always scared you because you thought it sounded a bit like a gun or an explosion.

You whimpered quietly again and the endless cycle of lightning and thunder began and Dan looked over at you, flashing an apologetic smile. He walked back over to his bed before pulling you onto his lap and rubbing your back soothingly. He whispered calming words to you as you slowly processed what he was saying and forgot completely about the thunder storm. All you were focused on were Dan's extra soft hands and how cozy his lap was. You really should sit like this more often.

After a while, the storm had calmed, but it was still very nasty. It had also gotten colder, outside and in the flat. Dan leaned down and kissed the top of your head softly before whispering, "It's okay, it's just a storm. I'm right here, I'm right here, don't worry. It'll be over soon and you won't even remember it," Dan kissed your head again, "It's alright, I love you."

"I love you too, Dan," you had tried to reply, but all that Dan had heard was an adorable little meow.
