Lol so I have been toying with the idea of taking an adult ballet class. In my oodles of spare time 😛. But maybe its a good thing I am so busy cause the students definitely make this look easier than it is. Poor Eva. 😆

So this is gorgeous. I'm crying lol. Well worth the watch *slight trigger warning for some flashing images of religious hate in the beginning. But what stands out to me about this choreography is how loving it is. They gentleness they convey with their bodies even as they are literally supporting each other with a tremendous amount of strength.
I don't care what the high brows say I think contemporary dance is the moment and the future lol. It blends together every style of dance and it's so versatile, while still being rooted in "classic" movement, but it's easier on the body in a lot of ways because it's more relaxed. It's no less energetic or physically demanding, but it doesn't rely on the same extremes and rigid devotion to "perfect" aesthetics, at the expense of the dancer that unfortunately ballet culture still does.
I think Billy's a bit of a purist though. Obviously he's been trained in multiple styles, and his skill is transferable across different genres, but he'll be a pretty pretty ballerina until someone drags his crusty ass off the stage lol. Steve I can see being a bit more fluid, naturally drifting into a more contemporary company. Choreographing more and teaching at the school. It would hold so many special memories for him and he'd want to keep his mom's legacy going.
Just thinking about Harringrove Ballet AU. Not to give away too much but there’s a section I plotted out where Billy dances at funeral and it’s really emotional for him because he knows his father will be there. It’s sort of a goodbye to the deceased and a statement to the living. Anyway, still debating on a few song choices for his routine and that reminded me of this video which I’m gonna share case it’s too beautiful not to in my opinion.
First off, Sleeping At Last is one of my favorite bands - the artistry just drips from everything they do. It’s honestly a SHAME that more people didn’t know of them before twilight, but whatever introduces people to their music is a bonus I guess.
Secondly I love dance, and this combines the two to utter perfection. I cry every time I see it.
Anna Kendrick is freakin’ amazing in this! I love that she always dances with those types of shoes. So practical and badass! John was very amusing and brave too!
