Announcing: Chain Creation
Chain Creation is a new twist on the format of xyz, while still keeping the core mission of providing space for the creation of new dance works by artists who wouldn't normally meet. Two groups of past xyz participants will each collaboratively create a new piece over the course of two months. There are several choreographic rules to follow. The series is called "chain creation" because each current participant will create a new rule and nominate a new artist for the following session, which will begin at the time of the current group's culminating performance.
The Rules for the first chain creation session are:
1. Each member of the group must include something they can't let go from childhood.
2. Each member of the group must show off their weirdest non-dance skill.
3. Your piece must include stolen art.
4. Audience submitted rule! All audience members will submit a potential rule as they come in to the show on Sept 25, and the best one will become one of the rules for the session! (Come on, you didn't think there would be an xyz show without some kind of contest, did you?)
Championship Round Sign Up for Dancers is now open!
