Strange ask- if there were any elements from PPGZ or the 2016 Reboot or even Dance Pantzed you'd like (reimagined, of course) into an Original Series revival, what would it/they be?
I haven’t watched either of those three nearly as much as I have the original show, so… I really can’t say. 😆 In general terms, I appreciated that PPGZ was very clearly its own thing, I didn’t like how the 2016 reboot was handled in many ways and hated how it was unclear whether it wanted to be a continuation of the old show or its own thing (+ the whole VA debacle), and I did like how they tried a cool new art style for the Dance Pantsed special (that was very stylized in a modern UPA sort of way, which was pretty thoughtful considering that it kind of shared the same sorts of influences as the original style and that 60s aesthetic).
…so maybe what I would like is for any new iteration that comes out to very clearly be its own thing (so explicitly based off of the original, not an extension), be artistically inventive in thoughtful ways, and not try to pretend that it’s the old show if they do keep the old voice actors (but if they do pretend, actually keep the characters in character, but after watching that Jellystone thing I don’t have much hope for that 😩).
