resources for ppl who wanna dance to kpop but don’t know where to start
KPOP Youtube Tutorials + Channels:
1Million → an obvious one; from easy to advanced, there are so many cool non-kpop but also kpop dances to choose from;
↳personal favourite choreographers: lia kim, isabelle, kris, jinwoo yoon, junsun yoo, mina myoung, may j lee
((sometimes choreographers post tutorials of the dances they do, so look out for that))
VIVA Dance Studio → one of my favourites. underrated, but amazing. their older dances are the best in my opinion, but they are still rly rly amazing!!!
ALiEN Dance Studio →don’t really count for “kpop”, but they are a rly good studio w lots of pop/hip hop dances and occasionally kpop
Kpop Motivation + Fittoakay→ [BEGINNER FRIENDLY] recently discovered it and absolutely love these types of channels; each video has various dances that are all really great and go well together in one workout. however, the moves are simple and geared towards weight loss and not actually learning the dance moves. they feature other videos and compile it for one workout session.
Random Kpop Dance Challenges ie → vids like these are gr8 for busting a move and working up a sweat. most of the time the clips are mirrored, but make sure it’s confirmed in the title or in the description (there’s a shit ton of these out there, and you can choose specific groups to dance to, if you so please)
Specific kpop channels (bc im lazy, i only wrote down the names):
Eclipse
RPM Dance Crew
Koreos UCLA
charissahoo
Tips:
1. Learn a dance you enjoy
2. Do it in chunks
3. Practise often, even after you got the whole thing down (at least if you still want to remember the dance after a few months; ie: if you now know a certain dance, make that your warmup for the next dance you learn)
4. Use a mirror! You can correct yourself easily (or record yourself to watch over it later)
