Hii Erin !! Hope you have a good week ahead 💓 Just wanted to pop in and say that I finished reading Conversations with friends. Despite the very intellectual and profound conversations that took place between the characters (some of which I had a hard time understanding tbh shjdjdkd), the book had a homey feeling to it. Extramarital affairs irk me so reading about it felt a bit absurd. But I could sympathize with the characters as they felt messy and real. Besides, I found myself relating to Frances at times; in the way she often compares herself with others and her tendency to introspect a lot. Overall, this was a pretty compelling read ! hi ariana! omg I'm so glad you read the book! I feel similarly to you about the homey feeling and the distaste for their affair. I love the book because I relate to francis a lot and I was in a relationship with an older man when I read the book for the first time so I really connected with the characters that way. what did you think of rooney's writing style?? also, I'm not currently on goodreads but I absolutely need to get an account so I will let you know once I finally do :)

HI and thank u for asking for my opinion!!! well I rly only ever got into them bc I stumbled upon their music videos! namely the Royal and Blonde vids which are both SOOO good and are honestly still some of my fave songs! the lyrics on Blonde especially I loved and made me rly curious to hear more! After the singles tho I listened to the Double Dare album which has some of my absolute fave songs from them ever like "It Follows" and "Gloom Boys" and "21 Questions" which are all rly good examples of Awsten Knight's writing style and strong lyricism.

I think the biggest single songs that got me hooked on them though may have been "Pink" and also "It Follows" which are both b-sides but imo some of their strongest writing and I would just put them on repeat sooo much it was ridiculous lol.

Also my fave member is technically still Awsten, mostly bc I don't rly know too much about Geoff and Otto bc they're both pretty chill and not online nearly as much. Although I wouldn't recommend going on his Twitter lol, I do rly like watching him do stuff like track breakdowns on Insta live (and of course they're all on YouTube) so if you wanna get to know him I feel like that's the best starting point lol
