‘  uh huh.  sure. ’  max just gave a half-assed response,  seemingly staring off into nowhere with a bored expression--  leaning against a random tree with his arms crossed.  even so,  he was sure to keep an eye on the other,  while at the same time trying his best to not make such surveillance obvious--  most of his encounters with teenagers didn’t turn out the best so he wanted to keep his guard up.  it also didn’t help that he was pretty much stuck in this random town for the time being because of his dad’s stupid business trip or whatever it was.
