Did you know that Anna Pavlova, Russian ballerina in the 19th and 20th century, had a dessert named after her? Pavlova, a meringue-based dessert, was created in Australia in the 1920's when Anna was visiting during her world tour! The chef named it after her because the dessert was "light as air", a phrase almost synonymously used with Anna Pavlova's dancing!
