danceofblades: “follow the flowers…” would it kill them to escort us? (SHB sentence starter meme)
"Regrettably I think if we ever have an 'easy time' getting anywhere, then it may very well be a trap," she sighs, shaking her head. It feels like there's always an obstacle in their way in one way or another. Feels like there's nothing that can be done until they find a way around or over or through. Every step a journey in its own right. Not that she'll ever complain, she does so love getting to explore the world. Yet... perhaps just once, she wishes they didn't have to go through so many... 'hoops' as it were.
Jubibi brings a hand to her chin, scanning the area for a moment before something catches her eyes. "Ah - at the very least, this one isn't too much of a puzzle. They stand out amidst the landscape. This way, if you'll please."

danceofblades for barnabas: A little emerald fox-like creature wandered the plains of Waloed along with a steed known to have risen from the waves much like Leviathan. Legend has it that the emerald fox-like creature and the steed of the waves had always stuck together for many decades as if one where another's guardian or as if they were family. One question though. Who is the emerald fox-like creature and who is the steed of the waves?
The emerald fox-like creature was Carbuncle, and the steed of the waves was Enbarr. And another question rises. Who are they really?
The steed had the little fox on its back and it didn't take too long for the fox to revert to its human-like form whereas his tail and cat ears were shown. It appeasers that the half-human man had fallen weak due to severe injuries from the Phoenix Gate in Rosaria. Enbarr wasn't in the best of shape either but was lucky enough to have been able to pull through to the plains on Waloed all the way from Rosaria. It didn't take too long for Enbarr's waves that were in the shape of flames to fade where he looked almost like a regular steed now.
As soon as Enbarr and the half-human man reached the gates of Waloed, Enbarr had fallen along with the half-human man he carried on his back, and reverted to his original self which was that of a mere human.
(Horses are totally a rare sight in the world of FF unless you're in Eorzea or Valisthea. Or if you're Odin or have some kind of association with Odin.)

Sleipnir had received several reports of civilians witnessing a rather odd sight throughout the last few hours, which intrigued him like nothing else. A human like creature on the back of something that resembled Odin's known steed – which was very curious on its own. Sleipnir was the only of his kind that he knew of, but it seemed that was about to change.
Sleipnir didn't move before they had made it to the gates of Waloed – ordering servants to take them to one of their guest quarters and have someone stand guard whilst he informed their King of the news.
Barnabas was doing paperwork when Sleipnir interrupted him, explaining what had happened and painting the most interesting picture. The King did not know of a Dominant who fit such a description, but from what had been witnessed, it was very likely that it was an unknown Eikon they were dealing with.
Giving the orders to keep an eye on their new guests, Barnabas had to wait several hours before he received word that they showed signs of waking up.
Making his way to the guest quarters, he stepped inside and took a seat by the strangers' bedside. The moment they showed coherence, he made his move.
"The two of you have caused quite the stir." He motioned for a servant to bring their guests some food, knowing they'd likely be hungry after their ordeal. From their injuries he could guess at what had happened, but he would not make assumptions just yet. Sleipnir was standing watch in the corner of the room, keeping an eye on the strangers' aether. Any sign of aggression and he'd be forewarned.
"What brings you to Waloed?"

There's sadness on Joshua's features at these words. He knows all too well how it feels because that's how he has been too. His life has been a living nightmare for so long. Since the events of Phoenix Gate, he never found peace and wasn't even treated like a human.
"I truly am sorry you are feeling this way." He pauses for a bit, knowing that his words would probably not comfort him. "I know how it is. Maybe you won't believe me, but that's the truth. But I like to think that eventually... things will make sense again."

Send me “ what happened to you? “ for your muse to find mine bandaging up a wound. @danceofblades
Thancred attempts to shift away, but realizes too late that he had been found out. He manages a smile as he turns, revealing a hand that is battered and bruised.
"I may have gone overboard a touch," he says. "Just some scratches, nothing that cannot be healed. 'Tis no concern..."
danceofblades for graha'tia: He might be lurking in the shadows. Ninja advantages. He doesn't intend to cause any harm. He's not even sure why he is hiding in the shadows from the exarch. Maybe a part of him just felt some guilt for what his own greater grandfather had nearly killed him? But why feel guilty for him since Masaki wasn't the one who nearly killed the exarch?
Did his father know who this guy really was beneath the hood? ...Maybe not. He recalled his father knowing Graha'tia, but little did he know who the man really was beneath the hood. Meanwhile Masaki knew nothing of this Graha'tia, but now his curiousity grew.
"If you think you're going to learn anything by following me around, you may as well leave now."
Red miqo'te ears flick and swivel in the direction of the person spying on him. Although a normal person wouldn't be able to pick up on someone cloaked in shadow, the former Exarch was no normal person. Dealing with potential assassins from the Light had honed his many senses and he had allowed himself to be followed for so long only because he felt the person held no ill will towards him.
"Come now, I won't be cross if you show yourself now. There are better ways of introduction, however."
"Loss. It's a terrible thing, isn't it?" (danceofblades)

"Indeed..." Thancred's face fell, his bangs covering his eyes as he spoke. "The pain never truly goes away, it only dulls with time. All we can do is learn to live with it...and remember that they once lived."
