Jessica woke up to the sun shining through the curtains. Noticing Carson was still asleep, she slowly crawled out of bed and walked upstairs. She joined Carson’s mom for breakfast. They talked about the pregnancy, her family, and her and Carson’s plans for the weekend. His mother didn’t seem to mind, she actually thought it was a good idea. After breakfast, she went back downstairs and called her mom. Her mom eventually gave into the idea and agreed to meet her at lunch. Jessica went into Carson’s room and quietly climbed on top of him. “Car....Wake up.” She said repeatedly while poking his nose.

Near Death Sentence

Jessica sat in her room with the lights off for several hours after school. Her mom, Karen, knocked on her door, “Honey, it’s time for dinner. Are you gonna come up or are you feeling ill?” Jessica sighed and sat up, “I’m fine, mom. I’ll be up in a minute.” As foot steps clicked back up the stairs she sighed and pulled herself up. She knew she had to tell them tonight and the thought of doing it made her sick to her stomach. Jessica walked upstairs and into the dining room, sitting in her normal chair. “How was school today, sweetpea?” Her dad, Tony, asked. “It was fine. Just studying for tests and things like that.” “Well that’s great, I personally..” He continued to talk as Jessica drifted off, occasionally nodding to pretend she was listening. Dinner seemed to drag on and her mom brought in dessert taking her plate away. “Are you sure you are feeling okay? You look ill, honey.” Jessica looked up at her mom and sighed, “I’m fine.” She shook her head and started eating dessert. “You sound pissed.” Tony said with a laugh. Jessica looked up at him defeated, “I’m pregnant.” A cloud of silence fell onto the room. “What was that?” Tony spoke, slowly putting down his fork. Karen quickly reentered the room putting her hand on her husbands shoulder. Taking a deep breath in, Jessica looked up at her parents. “I know what you’re going to say and I know I’m a disappointment. I-I wasn’t going to keep it, I was going to get an abortion but-” Her mom gasped before covering her mouth and looking down. “Carson, sweet little asshole Carson, he wants to keep it. He think it’ll be fun, like it’s some kind of, kind of pet or something stupid. And I don’t understand I’m just scared and you guys are going to find out one way or another so here I am telling you. So, just yell or whatever you want. I just. It happened. It’s a present problem.” Jessica looked around the room at everyone and no one replied back to her. Tony cleared his throat but Karen tightened her grip on his shoulder. Karen smiled at her, “Honey, why don’t you go back to your room for a bit? You can take your pie with you.” Jessica sighed and got up grabbing her plate before swiftly moving down the stairs. She couldn’t believe what was going on. She sat on her bed and finished her dessert before setting it on the floor and rolling over. There was nothing really in her to cry so she just sat there. Staring at this stupid green wall. Textured walls are horrible, she thought. Arguing began to break through the walls as she heard her father shouting at her mother. They must have been talking quieter before because this sounded like the near end of the argument. After several minutes it seemed to fade out until it went into silence. Not long after her door opened with a creak and she rolled over, it was her mom. “Hey, honey.” With a small smile she entered and sat on her bed. “I think it’s best if you go stay at a girlfriends house for a while until your father calms down. He, I, we didn’t even know you had lost your virginity and this is just a lot.” Jessica rolled her eyes, “Can I stay at Carson’s house?” “Yes. We just won’t tell your father.” Karen leaned over and hugged Jessica, “If you need me to call you in sick to school I can. I’ll do anything for you, honey.” Jessica took a deep breath in, “Thanks, Mom. I appreciate it. I guess I should pack.” She said pulling away and standing up, “This whole thing was just a mistake, tell dad I’m sorry. And I’m sorry to you too.” “It’s okay, we’ll always love you.” Karen gave her one last hug before walking back upstairs.

After skateboarding with decker she had learned 3 new tricks. She knew that Jeremy probably needed her more than skateboarding did. She kissed Connor on the cheek goodnight before going inside and getting her purse. After driving through taco bell, she walked into his house and went to his room, “Why do you always have to be so mean to Connor?” She said with a laugh.
