Sifira and Liara were sitting at the kitchen table, trying to work through some of the younger asari's homework. It was math, and poor Sifira was being frustrated to near tears, but had continuously turned down help from both of her parents until Liara insisted she help.
Liara ran a hand over her her daughter's crest, and then told her that she'd go get her something to eat, and that she should take a break. Sifira heaved a sigh, and then nodded silently, slumping back in her seat.
Lyesia, the younger of Liara and Reina's two daughters, was already in the kitchen, talking on her omni-tool. She was speaking to one of her school friends, and it seemed like they were planning on meeting up. Liara only caught the tail end of the conversation, and did her best to not say anything until Lyesia brought it up.
"Hey, Mom, do you you mind if Telia comes over for a bit?" the girl asked. Telia was the friend she had just been talking to. Liara paused for a moment before nodding.
"I don't mind, but make sure to ask your father too," she said. Lyesia huffed, a little unhappy with having to go through both of her parents. Sifira had received the same treatment, but that didn't stop Lyesia from grumbling about it. Liara did, however, watch the youngest of her children a lot more closely than she had Sifira, but she never could be sure why.
There was something about their second daughter that always worried her. She had brought up it up with Reina a few times, but they had never talked to Lyesia about any of it. She was still too young to really get passed the fact that she was being treated differently than her older sister.
Lyesia shut her omni-tool off completely, and then wandered off, still muttering under her breath, to find Reina. She paused briefly to ask Sifira where their father was, but the older asari just grunted in response, not even bothering to gesture. Lyesia tossed a bit of biotics her way, just enough to unbalance her chair, and then moved on.
It didn't take very long for her to find Reina, however. "Dad, can my friend come over for a bit?" she asked, putting on a bit of a puppy-dog eyes expression, clearly hoping that it would work on her father.
