She’d been waiting for Liara in her cabin, but before the asari returned, she totally fell asleep.
shadowbrokertsoni liked a post for a thing
"I need t' know where someone is yet nobody can tell me. Or maybe worse, won't tell me. What am I supposed t' do about that?"
Liara.
"We've known each other a damn long time. I think the only people I've known longer would be Joker an' Ash. Least, on the crew currently. She's a great friend, and I'm sorry we don't talk as much as we used to. Which is why I feel guilty havin' her help with a few... matters."
shadowbrokertsoni replied to your post: Reina groaned, picking up her head fro...
"I hope you weren’t drinking again, Reina."
Now that was the best damn mirage she'd ever seen. "Naw, baby, naw!" she swore, trying to sit up before her head kept her weighted in place. "Ugh..."
--
"NO!!"
She had sworn not to lose anyone else. She had always thrown herself in the way of fire. She'd done it so many times she had lost count. She was expendable. But... so was everyone else in the grand scheme of things. But that didn't mean... being flung backwards by a biotic throw hadn't been something she was expecting. Places were swapped before she could do a damn thing.
"Wait, no. Liara, no don't--" she couldn't get the last syllable out as an explosion drowned out anything else she was going to say. She flung an arm reflexively over her eyes to shield from the heat and bright light of the blast.
"..." she could only stare helplessly at the spot Liara had been. The post Shane had been occupying moments before and had trodden over a trip wire.
She's never sure what to give Shane; she's not an easy person to shop for. This year is no different, but this time she decides to skip the shopping entirely and just make Shane a little cupcake, something she can easily eat on her own. She's done her best to decorate it with the outline of a head of a howling wolf (it's a bit sloppy but she did try). She's placed it in a small white box and left it in Shane's quarters, the words "From Liara" written across the lid. [ late but w/e ]
The Commander hadn't been seen much if at all on the rest of the ship. It wasn't the first time. And Liara was one of the few who remembered Shane's usual reaction to her birthday.
Seeing the box, she tilted her head. The name allowed her to feel a little more at ease, but she looked it over anyways. She was not in the mood for something to happen to her on her birthday.
She opened the box, curiosity on her face. Seeing the little cupcake inside, she couldn't help the smile. The wolf scrawled in icing on the little cake only made her smile that much more. Sometimes she didn't feel like the alias she'd been given so many years back.
The lone wolf dies, but the pack survives...
She almost didn't want to eat the thing, really. It must have taken a lot of effort. But she did take a picture on her omni-tool before taking a large bite from it. With her mouth full, she sent off a text message to Liara.
[MSG "BA"] Thanks for the cupcake, Li. The decorating was great. Find my old cookbooks did ya?
