I’m so, SO proud of my amazing friend @fighting_illness_on_wheels for joining myself and my lovely friends for her first ever dance class with @rubicondance 💃🏻🥳🥰👏🏻!! Joining new activities, especially anything physical, when you’re chronically ill and disabled can be so scary. What if the class isn’t accessible to you? What if people aren’t accepting? What if I can’t do something everyone else is doing? Luckily I invited/recruited Roo because I know our class is full of amazing, kind people who are just there to have fun and learn. Our teacher Esther says no two people will ever do the same dance the exact same way... But our class is the only dance class we don’t all aim to look or move the same; we aim to interpret that dance move in a way that works for our bodies... and we still look awesome 😎! I’m so grateful I found Rubicon; it’s led me to make amazing lifelong friends, taught me to dance for the love of it, and given me a sense of confidence and control back in my body. They’re a truly amazing school that I reckon for anybody, but especially disabled dancers. Thanks for all being so amazing today guys! #danceclass #disabilitydance #whybemoodywhenyoucanshakeyourbooty #dancingismagic #inclusivedance https://www.instagram.com/p/CLKuFq2jdkO/?igshid=12wv41pe47wou
