Western Canvases: Dawns at Dandeli forest have just the right amount of tinge, sweetness and pleasantly breezes that make up for a perfect place to have a cup of warm chai, floating on the Kali river. The drive through the Dandeli forest before the oranges of the dawn hit, giving the leaves their golden greens, is what any adventurer would look forward to wake up to, after a night of campfire and odomos 😂 You can hire jeeps to take you through the forest, to the riverbank, where upon prior booking, a boat awaits you to take you to tiny islands where ducks, cranes and other water birds nest and if you're lucky enough, you'll get to see some eggs and hatchlings. And I urge you, should you visit here, to not litter or disturb the birds. Sometimes, hues become a mask for what is actually the substance of the shot, making it essential for them to be sliced off, revealing the monochromatic reality of what the image is about. I had shot this one particular picture directly in a b/w mode to totally remove the temptation to post it in chrome. Because like many, even I succumb to the shades and the blends and the hazes, obscuring the raw skeleton of the frame. Observe how the fog stretches and densifies towards the open side of the river, thinning towards one of the scattered islands on the river Kali, and I have done nothing but add the logo here and the slight vignette is directly from the capture, so as to emphasize the actual haze of that scene, without any distraction of the skies or those waters or greens. Mr. Handsome in a flight | my years of wait to capture a peacock in flight ends on that day at Dandeli. It was a moment after rains at Dandeli... the twilight was just too gorgeous. Amidst that, a handsome peacock was on a perch so close to the trail and seeing the vehicle he took off in split second. With no much time to react, captured the moment from the moving vehicle. Higher SS helped me to capture the moment well. Just look at those rush of colours on the wings...
