They yelp and grip their gun tightly as they feel a hand clap over their mouth before they're getting dragged out of sight by the same person who clapped a hand over their mouth. They try to dig their heels into the ground in order to make it harder to take them.
They turn quickly, breaking the hold on them, holding up their gun; trying not to shake. "What the hell? Who do you think you are grabbing a Squire?" They whisper shout, so they don't give away their position, gun still pointed at the other.
dane’s dream life is like... he lives in a little bamboo cottage in the woods next to a trickling stream. he finds all his own renewable food sources and washes and dries his clothes naturally. he owns four horses. he has a boyfriend. he doesnt have to interact w annoying ass people ever again
I’ve been wanting to do this for a while because I have Ideas and I get attached to them real easily haha. so basically when I’m bored at my shitty retail job I just doodle random shit and sometimes I’ll make these little absurd doodles of things about the job but make them just....slightly wrong haha. so I did some character designs based off of said bullshit and went Crazy
so basically I made four characters (probably more later? we’ll see, these are the main four at the very least) to encompass the way the company is run and the people I work with without blatantly ripping off an actual person that I work with. mostly because my coworkers are actually really nice, it’s just the job that’s bullshit honestly. but also I made them all Off because what can I say I like fantasy haha

Hattie is the culmination of Customer Service. she’s sweet and friendly and actually loves to help customers. it’s her favorite part of the job. she loves to hang out at the register and greet people when they walk in the door, help them when they need it, and just generally make the customer’s experience a pleasant time. she probably gets the most fed up with the company’s bullshit because they make things counterintuitive and unhelpful for both the employees and the customers, so she constantly has to inconvenience people because she’s Told To. she’s also the assistant manager but she makes sure there’s no divide between her and the regular part-timers. I like to think she’s some kind of fae, but I don’t have all the details about that pffft.
Dane is the actual store manager. he’s a little twitchy and constantly stressed and anxious and always trying to please Someone. the higher ups give him the worst time and constantly tell him he’s doing things wrong, even when he’s doing exactly as he was told. he likes to help customer’s well-enough but he’d much rather just be doing his general Store Management jobs, and sometimes he’s a little Too friendly to customers and comes off far too aggressive. he’s trying his best but sometimes it’s Hard. the reason he’s the way that he is, is because he’s an android designed by the company and has been working as the store manager for an incredibly long time. but then, some upper management changed and all of a sudden he was constantly being reprimanded for things he’d been doing for years.
Piper is the disenchanted part-timer who couldn’t give less of a shit about her job. she’s good at lifting stock and getting on ladders when need be. and she knows how to fix shit when it’s broken, but she really just doesn’t Care about her minimum wage job. but nobody can really blame her honestly. she’s not a bad employee, she’s just not very personable to the customers. she does her job as long as it doesn’t mean smiling at any customers, especially when they’re assholes. regardless, she’s essential on days where new stock comes in and they have to reorganized the whole store to fit it all in.
Astrid doesn’t work at the store, but she still works in the mall the store is part of. I like to think that her third eye can predict future events and she quit soon after the management changed because she knew the store would go to hell. she still drops by every now and again to see how the store is going and listen to Hattie and Piper complain. she’s good friends with Hattie (and maybe has a little bit of a crush on her shhhh) and was there when Hattie got the promotion to assistant manager, but she left before Piper started working there so they never got to work together. she currently works at a little coffee shop kiosk that’s owned by the manager of the place so it’s a much more chill place to work. she’s got a good memory and is really smart but she just gets so Nervous around Hattie, the poor thing.
