i was on a wiki dive as is my wont and randomly learned that the word 'hircine' means goat-like, which is a l'il weird since scrolls dude has such a strong deer theme, but in particular for a while now the word has meant the special horrible smell that male goats have; long story short all this time we thought hircine was supposed to be hot shit but in reality he's just the Daedric Prince Of Goat Stink
oh my god??
you ever think much about who the original haskill was and what he was like, and just what the heck he was going through that eventually led to him mantling a mad god
i think abt haskill and what he was like and what he did and what he probably was going through as madgod ALL the time, like bethany really just flipped my metaphorical worldview by revealing that he’s a former mantle in the same vein as the OB protag. i know that the canon revelation we may get at some eventuality, likely in teso, will be extremely lackluster, but in my heart of hearts im dreaming of the wild scenarios that could be done with him. was his mortal self a wild motherfucker, leading to him reversing his trajectory entirely as a mantle/later vestige servant? was he a banal, milquetoast mortal dude that a scheming sheo swooped up into his plan to stall jyggalag? and even so, did haskill become a retained vestige of some mortal personality by chance or force of will, or because sheo valuedloved him so much he didnt want to go on with eternity without him?
either way im extremely attached to haskill, i love him so dearly and i fear of what bethesda today may end up doing to him. but, some small part of me hopes they’ll at least confirm that he and sheo love each other very much, and that he’s always going to be that shred of reasonable thought to reach you in even your darkest of breakdowns
imagine the shivering isles dlc but the entire time sheo's a small tabby cat in a fancy pet sweater
wheres THAT mod honestly

what really gets me is that they went back to having fun interesting nords in tes online again? which turns skyrim into this weird hiccup in the series that’s also unfortunately the one most people know about
skyrim pretty much became popular because of oblivion and morrowind’s popularity and quality, honestly. bethesda was so focused on upping graphics and streamlining the gameplay they forgot to make a good game in there somewhere
man how does one even pick a side in skyrim, from what i gather it’s fascist elves versus shitty xenophobes, it seems lose-lose either way, why is this game so grim and full of terrible people
fuckin... right.... i hate this place when do i get to go to catland
something something groundhog day, sheo trapping somebody in an endless loop day bill murray style to see what happens
god, he would... i’m surprised that hasn’t happened yet in-canon, honestly
dangermousse replied to your post “renmorris replied to your post “Thoughts on Sheo tricking Malacath...”
that was me asking that question because i was legitimately interested in thoughts on it, because i'm still very new to tes and know little about all the lore or rules or gray areas involved, i was on anon because i was worried about getting this exact reaction from people misunderstanding my intent :(
nah like, its fine, but honestly most other people have a real simplistic view of daedra morality when its pretty well established that daedra do NOT act in line with any regular real life morality, and the whole tumblr performative social justice intent taints every goddamn fandom now so blue and orange morality gets either swept under the rug or taken as a black and white issue
im gonna be real tho, the decisions made in malacath’s chapter of the 16 accords of madness are unnecessary bullshit from a regular person’s standards, but under the pov of a daedra they would either not know or just not care because killing some other daedra’s son is not their problem. its bad just regardless of viewpoint, its a stupid drama choice taken by a daedra who lives to cause drama and is not supposed to be defended in any way, which is why my stance is ‘it’s just daedric drama bullshit’
