[Video] Archive mit neuer Single "Yahoo"!
Das Südlondoner Kollektiv Archive, das im Februar dieses Jahres sein 13. Studioalbum "Glass Minds" veröffentlichte, hat diese Woche mit "Yahoo" einen brandneuen Titel geteilt.
Es ist wahrscheinlich der brutalste und ehrlichste Song, den Archive je geschrieben haben, der als unmittelbare Reaktion auf die aktuellen weltpolitischen Entwicklungen entstanden ist und mit direkten Texten systemische Ungleichheit, Krieg und politische Unterdrückung anfechtet.
Zu dem Titel, der von Archive & Jerome Devoise produziert, in den Metway Studios in Brighton aufgenommen und im Studio DES in Paris abgemischt wurde, sagte Darius Keeler von Archive: “Sometimes a song comes along that is so of the moment, so connected to what’s going on in the world, that you just have to put it out as soon as it exists - ‘Yahoo’ is definitely one of those songs.” Und weiter: At the end of the day though ‘Yahoo' isn't about politics, it’s about humanity, and about the inhumane actions of tyrants and some world leaders. In recent times I feel like a lot of pressure has been brought to bear on artists not to speak out; be that commercial pressure from sponsors, promoters, the algorithm, or even intimidation from their own governments in some cases. But I think it’s really important that the artistic community doesn’t become cowed.”
